Getting gunk off of tires ?

Okay, so I'm a dum-bass... I had been using Turtle Wax silicone based tires shine without any problems. Then, the last time I was at Wally World, they were out, so I grabbed some kind of gel crap :-(

Well, I'm sure I'm not the only dum-bass to have done this, as I have read a couple posts in the past, where guys have gunked up their tires with crappy tire shine products. Plus, I'm thinking that even with good tire products, a person might eventually have a buildup of road grime....

I just don't remember what they did to "more easily" get this crap off ?

I just wore myself out scrubbing with hot water / soap / degreaser, for about 1 1/2 hours, and I got it a lot better, but still they are not perfectly clean (still in the creases and crevices..... I have BFG AT's)

What's the easiest way to make my tires spotless ?

Thanks,
Fish

Jab at with a knife ...Jk

I would try bug and tar remover. Another good product that seems to remove just about everything for me is Goof Off, the stuff works miracles. Apply, wait a few minutes, and scrub vigorously

Try Wesley's Bleechwhite. Or Spray Nine. Have used both and both work well.

I have always used spray nine and a scrub brush on my tires. It brings out the black and cleans up the white if you have white letters/walls.

I'm surprised no one suggested a pressure washer. I give my tires a good spray down every time I wash the truck and everything comes off.

Me too. It's the best stuff I've ever used.

The best thing would be to hit them with a heated pressure washer to get what you can off then to get wesley bleech white and scrub them they will look new again i have no doubt.

If you have raised white letters one way to make them look brand new again is to scrub them with an SOS pad, the kind with the soap. Just get the pad wet and then scrub the letters and then spray the tires off with your hose or else you will end up with dried on SOS soap. Just start off scrubbing lightly and they will look bright as new.
