I didn't have any issues with the cruise.
Do you have any more info regarding that? You put swapped in a fuse rated for lower amps? and this fixed your cruise control issue?

But they were too long! They would go into the socket, but they were a hair too long - the socket didn't have enough clearance to turn back into position. Another thing I found - it seems the light housing is curved enough so if you use a standard 194 LED bulb (with the LED at the end of the bulb) so you don't get the true light output through the lens. It appears you need a LED bulb with the LED's around the bulb and at the end. Problem is, I can't find any "shorties".

Anyone had any success?

I had white LEDs in the dome/map lights, but a friend with a red Mazda3 turned me onto the idea of putting red LEDs instead. They aren't quite as "bright" as white LEDs (maybe half as bright), but give the truck a cool look, and red does not require your pupils to adjust, so easy to drive at night with them on.

LEDs are great! I was told they last for about 15 years. I bought some rope-type lights from a marine lighting supplier, which you can buy by the foot, they look great. LEDs is the way to go for any lighting.

How do you take the covers off the interior lights? I was trying to figure it out for an hour and gave up.

They pop off with no tools. I just did my father-in-laws a few weeks ago and the rear one was a pain to get off but it finally popped off. It feels like they're going to break but just keep pulling, they'll come off.

Those will fit, they are short. I had some longer ones that did not fit, gotta make sure you order leds that are as short as possible. otherwise it will hit the light housing.

Yes I do and they work just fine. I thought they didn't fit at first too but I didn't have the twist in socket lined up correctly. It felt like the bulb was to big.

I then bought these ( http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/bulb_specsHP.htm ) for my Father-in-laws truck and they work fine too.

Read this thread. I believe pg 4 or 5 discusses lic. plate bulbs: https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...uestion-5.html
