Would this be illegal?

Now that I have your attention...

My FX4 decals I had made from Patriot Decals seem like they are going to be replaced soon. On one of them, the very tips of the X are starting to come up. I think using the self-serve was a bit too much pressure for the incredibly sharp/small tips of the lettering.

Would it be illegal to get my decal to say "FX4 SWAT"? My common sense says yes. I think it would be considered impersonating an officer or something like that? I just want to make sure because that would be sweet to have.

Eh, it depends how big it is. Is the swat just going underneath the FX4 in smaller letters? Or do you want the SWAT to be the same size as the FX4 letters? If it's small you can probably get away with it. There were a couple guys I knew who had SWAT stickers, and underneath it said "Special Whitetail Assault Team" or something like that. I think as long as you don't have it plastered all over your rig you should be fine. It's not like you're running lights and sirens with SWAT written in huge letters on the side.

Yes it would be the letters under the FX4. Like this picture, except SWAT instead of BLACKOUT.

No I don't think you would have any trouble with that.

You should be fine, if you look up your state laws, they will most likely only say you cant have blue lights or red lights.

No it's not illegal. Just don't jump out of your truck at dunkin donuts in full tactical gear wielding a AR-15 and you'll be OK.

Hmm.. I don't think it would be illegal.. but it might draw yourself a little bit of negative attention from certain crowds..

Personally.. I liked the Blackout decal.. then again, I'm obviously biased.. lol

If ya decide against swat.. why not come up with something just as catchy..?

Stealth, Venom, Sable, Onyx.. just a few synonyms for black
