Lost a lot of blood installing my surround today

So I successfully removed my new black surround from the H bar grill and now I need to remove my Roush grill from my original chrome surround. I found it very easy if I worked my Buck knife in between the clip and the grill and then carefully using a screw driver from the outside of the grill simply pop it out.

I had set the grill on a old popcorn can that we keep cat food in now and covered it with a flannel shirt to prevent any scratching. This allowed the actual surround to be suspended so it could pop off easier.

I was down to my last damn clip. I had my left hand underneath the grill giving it extra support while I began to work my knife in. Whelp, the knife slipped right through the slot and punctured my wrist right smack dab into a vein. I've never actually seen blood squirt up in the air. I flippin' yelled "OH BOY, HONEY I'VE GOT A SERIOUS PROBLEM HERE!!!!" My wife came running into the room and started screaming. I grabbed my left wrist with my right hand and b-lined it to the kitchen. By the time I got there the blood was running down my right hand and arm all over the damn place. She grabbed a wet towel and started freakin' out. "WE GOT TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL, WE'VE GOT TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!" She said this about five or six times.

I held the towel, rapped around my wrist, up in the air for several minutes. I unwrapped the towel and the bleeding had stopped that quick. There was just a tiny little puncture and slice but holy crap man.

The carpet didn't get it to bad and fortunately the great room is hardwood and the kitchen is ceramic so it was easy to clean up.

All in all I thought it went pretty well

All done

take some peroxide and dab the blood on the carpet. Try it in a spot near a corner first to make sure that it is not going to bleach it first.

My girl would come unhinged if I was doing truck repairs in the living room so cutting myself would have been the least of my worries.

I think we have all done something like that at some point. You look back and can't imagine what you were thinking. Glad to hear you are OK.

Jeeze! The stuff we do for our truck, eh? I've lost quite a bit on my hands over the years taking off and putting on over and over. Next time wear gloves!

Wow looks nice - can't wait to see it on the truck.

Sorry to hear about the battle wounds - is that by chance a Tech Cleaner bottle? Just wondering
