Hella 500 pair on eBay $39.99 shipped
H3 8k hid kit from F150online member XenonLink - talk to William - $100 shipped

so total was $140, and about 4 hours total work

the wiring is easy, anyone who has done e-fans, an amp+subs, or any other battery-powered auto mod will have no problem with this, especially with those diagrams

This may be a dumb question, but what did you use for your mounting brackets?

Thanks for the reply. Congratulations on a very cool project...I may think of trying something like this myself when it gets a little warmer. If you get a chance, some head on shots in the daytime, just to see how noticeable they are would be interesting.

ok installed the HID healights yesterday, heres some day and night pics of it all.

had a lot of trouble taking the night shots, I was using an iphone, trying to get a good angle at the lights without them blinding the camera, and trying to block my license plate with my other hand. They are super bright, looks awesome at night

I would raise the foglights up a little so they are not behind the bottom of the grill. You need to learn how to take pictures without your thumb in the middle of them!

i like the HIDs. i also think you should raise the lights up a bit... it almost looks like you just threw something together to make it work.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but if it's blinding your camera, what do you think it's doing to oncoming drivers? The Hella's should be fine, as long as they're only used for high beam purposes.

Driving Lights = Used with High Beams (Pencil beam, long range)
Fog Lighs = Used with Low Beams (Very wide and low beam, short range)

i put a little effort into it, at night they look good, part of it is they are pointed downward so as not to blind people, but I agree, they need to be raised some

the hella's are pointed very low to the ground, and the bulb is a regular output, not a high beam. Plus I doubt a cop where I'm at will give me ticket for that, they might pull me over to tell me it looks good or something
