Did you ever get these installed? I'm thinking about buying some and would like to see them on a truck.

Yeah i got them in. Havent taken any new pics since i got em in and put my cover on. They look kick ***. Not sure about improved light output yet, they seem to shine further but i can determine if they are aligned right or not. They fit good and seem to be sealed well. Debating on getting new bulbs, then ill hook up the halos and make sure they are aligned right.

Ill try and get pics up next time i wash it. Darn pollen!

Have you used HID's in the stock housings? If so how do they compare?

How do they preform?

Do they cut down on the glare for the other drivers?

Much appreciated

Performance in stock headlights are not going to be what you expect. They will be nothing compared to what you'd get out of an Acura TL or BMW. HID's require entirely different optics than Halogens do. Putting a HID kit into your stock housings will give you a lot of foreground light with a very narrow beam pattern (what halogens are designed to do, due to the limited output). Also, when you put a Xenon capsule in a halogen housing, you are just going to be causing a lot of glare that can dazzle other drivers. Just my $.02.

Might be the time to check out HIDPlanet. Lots of good information and people that know much more than I, there.

I have used HIDs in the stock housings and, in my VERY honest opinion, these halo-housings are 10x WORSE. The light goes EVERYWHERE and has very little focus. Sure, it looks nifty in there but, the light focus is beyond awful, IMO. The glare is atrocious.

I only run Silverstars in these housings...

Also, I went through 2 or 3 sets of these with the guy that I bought mine from on ebay because of leaking issues (and several others had problems with them as well)... mine don't leak now but, I worked a deal with the ebay seller that he'd give me 50% of my money back and let me keep a leaky set so that I could try to make them work... a tube of clear silicone later, they seem to be holding up.

Be reminded, these things aren't real 'sturdy' feeling but, in my opinion, they definitely look good and I assure you that you'll turn heads with only the halos lit and fogs on (I have HIDs in the fogs)... it looks good but, it's all looks.
