Night Shades on Fogs Question

I have been reading numerous threads on painting Fog lights, I was going to take apart and paint the back portion but I want more of a tinted look. I have also read about painting nightshades on the lenses but have heard numerous complaints about the clearcoat being dull. So my question is:

Would it work if I painted the night shades inside of the lens instead of outside? I just dont know if the paint would hold up to the heat.

I doubt it would hold up. I had niteshades on my cadillac cts and they were not dull at all. Used a spray can clear and then sanded with either 1000 or 1500 grit (cant remember) and then buffed them, came out great. Heres a pic.

It will look good as long as you dont go very heavy on them, but you will kill some of the light glare by spraying the lenses.
