^ true that...plus that may take me an hour trying to mask that off and end up looking stupid...I think I gotta try it though, cause in my mind, it looks kool. But a lot of stuff in my mind is a bit off from the actual

if you cover the dimples with chapstick or vaseline, you can spray the whole tail and then peel off the niteshades where the chapstick was. the paint wont stick to that part. just an idea

Not a bad plan...And i just might try it since I have to ******ING START OVER. I was finishing up in kinda low light last night and the clear went on VERY spotty and looks like butt crack. So i get the pleasure of sanding them completely down and starting over. This time im gonna try what I will now call...."the dimple method" Im thinking of masking or chapping off the dimples, three coats and then clearing off the dimples and hitting the whole tail with one more.

We shall see on monday how this all went. Im so not happy about removing the clear and two coats of nite shades.

Would thinner work for that? Or should I sand?

sand. i found the best clear to use is rustoleum acrylic clear. its what i have used on the last 3 sets of lights i have done and they came out much bette. if you put 2 light coats of clear and then a really heavy third coat they will come out really glossy

Amazing! Thats what i'll be doing, spray the lights until they reach my darkness preference, then automotive professional cleared. But I'm doing 1 cloat over the reverse, pure reverse light looks tacky imo.

I'd just do the whole light. Dont forget the 3rd brake light.

i taped them on the truck. with the reverse light lit. so i can see exactly where to cut with a razor blade. then took off the tape when i was clearing them.
