Russ, let me help you on those heads. First off, as you can see, they are a one-piece. This is a BIG issue because Ford has the corner seperate from the heads for a reason. The corner lights are attatched via 2 slides and 1 screw and stays in place. Simple. The headlights, however, have 3 aiming pins, attatched via two vertically-sliding locks. There are two pins on the outer lock, and one on the inner one. They need to be seperate from anything else so the headlamps can be adjusted/aimed/pointed, whatever you want to call it. Lets say you get that one-piece. If you screw in the side corners, now the headlights are limited or not allowed to pivot at all, which can cause glare, blinding drivers, upsetting them, flashing their hi-beams, etc. Believe me, you don't want that happening

Secondly, which is probably the most important, is the light output. Simply put, THEY SUCK! dirtyd88 (member on here) has the same ones. He has been describing problems of a "X" pattern on the road, and poor longetivity (down the road) light and poor side-road lighting. I believe he's stated that the OEMs are much brighter, which is a big shocker. The projectors are plastic (I think), and not glass like REAL projectors found on M-Benz, BMW, or Caddy's of today and plastic distorts the light.

Lastly, the personal problem I, and almost everyone else, have with those lights is:

A.) Dual-bulb system. Means you need TWO different bulbs. The projectors are powered by a tiny H3 bulb. These are bulbs are the same one found in similar fog light applications (deisgned for low power and short-beam output). Not very handy when it comes to high-beams. Also means more money on bulbs, should they burn out, and twice the price should you buy an HID kit (which is becoming a fad here recently in the appearance products forum).

B.) The LED/Halo Rings. Yes they are different, but they are barely noticeable. I used to like them too. When I got my truck, I first thought I was going to get these. Until I noticed that Mexicans with bad taste bought them and I saw how dim they are and don't really offer any "cool" points when looking at it. It makes the front end seem more "complicated" or "busy" as you migh call it, and very displeasing to look at.

Sorry if I offended any of your personal tastes, but just putting mine and several other's past experiences and ideas about them out there so you can save yourself about $150 when time comes you find out you dont like them. If you still love them and are getting them, congrats. We're not going to criticize you, but as fellow F-150 owners and respectable members, we don't want to see you ruin a fine looking machinery and save you from a HUGE headache in the future.

Whew, time for some water!

Russ, if you still like the idea of a projector set, here's a pic of a black, 2-piece set found on ImportVision.com if you haven't checked it out yet:

They are around $130-$150 shipped I believe

Those are $180 shipped...$159 plus $20 or so shipping. But worth it in my opinion if you like them.

not true. the entire one piece assembly is held in with 3 aiming pins. this enables you to adjust the entire piece. the side marker is not screwed down because it would put the thing in a bind and snap the seals, or worse break.

i did say that the light output sucks, but it still reaches donw the road...it just fades to nothing as you go further out. the side visibility is good, but not as good as stock solely because the OEM actually began to wrap around the side of the truck, unlike these having light confined to a given path.

Russ03, it just depends on what you want to put on your truck. there are ways to improve the projectors, just a little time, effort, and $$...

What is the difference between the ones I posted before [LINK 1] and these ones [LINK 2]? Can anybody tell me what the difference is? They look very similar and I was wondering why there is a big price difference and if the more expensive ones are worth it? I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I got to wait until next paycheck to do anything again.

Yeah I will have more up soon. Where should I post them? I saw a board for F150 trucks but it was 04' to Present, and mine is a 03. Is there a section where I can like post pics or my truck and stuff? I didn't see one.

in your profile, you can add albums. there should be a samll box on the right side that says..."Albums". lol

as for the lights. the 2nd pair is $279 because they come wired with HIDs already, and the $87 pair come with regular halogen bulbs. my advice, save up and get the HIDs pair. your lighting will be AMAZING...hopefully...and it will be well worth it.

yes, HIDs are one of the two best mods I have done for my truck. Others dont stand up. Well worth the money. Also, just to let you know, this whole site it dedicated to 97-03 trucks, all the others have their own sections because they are on the "sidelines" so post away. Get a few on this thread, for example.
