I have a 97 expedition in a body shop. They said they cannot put the valance back on b/c something is rusted out. How does the valance attach to this model? I think it may attach directly to the chrome bumper part but am unsure.

 

not sure about the Expy, but I have a 98 F-150 4x2 XL and its attatched to the bottom of the bumper with like 12 mini screws on clips. Unless the clips themselves are rusted, I don't see how they cant put it back on.

 

Thanks for your quick response. I will be going to the body shop tomorrow and sorting through this. Hopefully they are not trying to rip me off as I will have to resolve that.

 

Might want to check the junkyard and get some info before they show you up. possibly get the valence from a wrecked one and use it in place if possible?

 

Raptor, the valance itself is fine. The screws may be rusted out but they quoted me 70 for parts....sounds really high to me for some screws

 

Haha, I believe AutoZone carries them for about $5

They may be trying to charge you $65 for labor. If someone gets paid $65 to lay on their back for 5 mins and turn a couple screws, show me the dotted line!
