They wont give you any noise. As far as mpg goes, in sonme cases they can I believe. My truck I think it wouldn't help because around the locks of my gate theres holes ( factory ) that are about 1/4" and the air can escape through, and the 04+ tailgates are real light as is so I dont think it could make much of a difference. A 8ft bed it probably could.
