Got my Mossy Oak Shadow Grass......

3M vinyl adhesive material in today :-) I was kind of afraid it might not have much dark brown in it {as my paint.... stone green, is a very dark brownish bronze >not green at all< from a lot of angles} but to my pleasant surprise, this camo has LOTS of dark brown as the base color. But then plenty of light browns and tans which should go along with, but still stand out great against my paint :-)

Oh, in case anybody here missed it, I'm only planning to do my rocker panels in Mossy Oak. Not trying to go overboard. That should be enough to match my boat, which is entirely Mossy Oak Shadow Grass, inside, and out.

Whooo Hooo ! :-)

Peace,
Fish

This sounds an interesting story Shine. Care to elaborate?

Hey guys....

No problems Shinesintx :-)

Ya' know it's funny though...... When I lived in Louisiana for 3 years, the real "red necks" wouldn't have anything to do with me, as I was just some California whacko....... Plus, as I've said before, I'm not a hunter either.

I just have this unexplainable attraction to Mossy Oak, and Real Tree camo patterns :-)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BTW, people also often joke about how "now you won't be able to find your truck.... or boat... or whatever you have camo'd....
But in all honesty, this stuff really makes scratches, scrapes, dents, dirt, etc, nearly completely disapear ! Early on, I scraped the paint on my boat in a few spots, and thought to myself, "I'll have to touch that up pretty soon"...... but heck, now you be hard pressed to find those scrapes, so I just kind of forgot about it. Pretty amazing, really.
Someday, I might have to do the full body wrap..... But for now, I really like the look of that Stone Green :-)
Peace,
Fish
Hey BTW.....
I used to work with a girl in Louisiana, who always wore camo shirts, and boots, and tight faded jeans...... {she used to hunt all the time with her dad}
And Whooo Hoooo ! :-) That girl was BAD A$$ ! Heather B. where are you now ? :-)
My Ex had a total problem with her.... Geeez, I have no idea why ? ;-) LOL
Peace,
Fish
Nothing real exciting. She is a year and a half old now, and has about ten or so camo outfits. Camo dresses, T-shirts, Onesies, pants, ect... My wife even thinks some of it is cool. If I take Maddy out for the day or whatever, my wife will dress her in camo. My sister has a home business where she makes bows for little girls. My daughter literally has over 50 bows. I know some men exaggerate, but I refuse to posts pics of her bows to prove it. Anywho, I talked my sis into making Maddy some camo bows. She reluctantly agreed... Now, camo bows at the sales shows she attends are huge sellers. Her husband said "I betcha there are alot of women that would buy them for their redneck husbands". Turns out, he was right By at least 8, my daughter will have shot her first deer.
I took a date to a shooting range in college once. The old man behind the counter said "Son, you can teach a woman to shoot, or you cancheat on her, you cain't do both." My daughter WILL shoot
Thanks, Shine, for the story. I think your Daughter is lucky to have a Father who can teach her about the "real" world. EVERYONE should know how, and when, to shoot. My Grandmother first tought me, since my Father was off saving the world in WWII, and, when he came home, he finished the job.
Match? Theres no such thing as a queer redneck
None of my stuff matches. I gotta Browning hunting jacket with Gore-Tex that was originally sold for $250. I paid $50. Most of my stuff is mismatched due to them being on sale. Got a camo shirt at Walmart. DO ya thik it matches anything? It ain't Mossy, Realtree, Advantage...My camo philosophy is...the more it is mismatched, the better it blends. Especially when changing environments.
For dove season, cutoff sleeves(Walmart Private Label) militarty camo (Izod shorts from Sams) Both garments are complemented by my black Fort Lewis Danner boots. This year, I may get some Desert Danners. I think that overall, I get a very redneck look, and I dont give a **** what others think.
Oh yeah, my new 07 KR Screw had less than 50 miles before I had dual exhaust put on it. I also have a Browning double barrel on my fireplace mantle.
My point? I feel that NO ONE on this board should EVER get offended if I call them a redneck. I know that you weren't. Just wanted others to know.
Maybe it has something to do with you going deep into the bush?
Anyway, I have a "soon to be ex-brother in-law" who is all about Hardwoods camo. Hell, he had to have the Hardwoods Edition Yamaha ATV, coats, wallet, gun cases, binocular case, gloves, hast galore, t-shirts, etc. I think he even had Hardwoods underwear and condoms to hide his woody. It's a sickness for him. Of course,, now that he has flipped out, it's all about Body Armor.
I love woodland camo....
But I guess that's due to my paintballing fanatacism...
I even painted my gun with woodland camo...
By the way ShinesinTX, I was at Cabela's the other weekend with my girlfriend and we saw the little camo onesies. We looked at each other and at the same time said that when we have a baby we're getting some of those. She's a country girl and so I thought she'd like your little story, this was her response:
"that is cute....keep in mind what the old man said and that I do know how to shoot a gun and I am a pretty good shot... "
First thing I did when I found out I was having my first daughter was get Camo infant outfits and John Deere outfits for her..........before we found out we were having a girl, we were looking at camo decor for the room if it was a boy....
You will be surprised how many people have camo on their trucks, especially down where I live.....
Heck, several years ago me and a few of my friend had a little too much to drink and thought it would be funny to get tatoo's.........Far all of you hunters out there that will know what I am talking about, I got the BROWNING buck logo tatooed on my arm in Camo............Now hows that for REDNECK!!!!!
