Lightning Headlights on a '97

Will these headlights fit on my '97? I've seen people talking about something with the mounting is different on the 97's?

HEADLIGHTS

Also, would i be able to run HID's in them without them melting, or just having general problems with them (besides being illegal)?

it depends on what the build date of your truck was.

if your truck was manufactured before something like 6/26/96 you have the old style header panel that the headlights sit in & will need to replace it with the new style

Check the manufacturing sticker on your drivers-side door jamb and make sure the build date was after 7/96. And for HID, they actually run cooler than regular bulbs. HID runs off of 35W compared to 55W of Halogens. If your current bulbs don't melt them, niether will HID.

you guys are getting it all wrong! its not the headlights, its the panel behind it. you have to get a panel from a newer truck that has a build date AFTER 6/96. and lariat has nothing to do with your headlights. like i just said, its just an interior trim level, has nothing to do with the fitment of lights, dude
