Is this a good kit for my 2005 F150? I still retain my highbeams with one, but not with the $75 (shipped) one?
I think the 6000K is a nice color.
How hard are these to install? Does it require any splicing/cutting of wires, or is it just plug and play?

yes its a great kit and honestly you dont need your highbeams with the HIDs its plenty bright. 6000k is a great color. you dont want to go higher or you will loose light output. the install is pretty straight forward. its not exactly plug and play but if you search around there are plenty of threads on the install. if you want to spend a bit more and get high/lo check out xenoneyes.com thats where my headlight HIDs are from. my fogs are from HID4u

There it is. The catch. The el-cheapo kits dont offer Hi-beams? My mom's car has Xenon lightning and the low beams are impressive, but the high beams are 10x better. If I'm getting HID, it has to have high beams.
Jeepin, you say you dont need high-beams but you live in the city. Out here its PITCH BLACK around midnight and personally I can say that HID hi-beams are a definate need out in the country. My truck's front end has met with a few deers in its life. Honestly, I don't know how it did it but the nastiest was hitting one head-on at 55 mph at 3 am. Went over the hood, windshield, then roof and then rolled kiddy-corner off the roof by the time the truck stopped. Only damage was a broken blinker light and a 2 inch crack in my surround (happened last year before my billet grille)
I know HID low beams are brighter than halogens, but my high-beams w/ driving lights offer better down the road clearance than 4300K xenons do. Although, when you switch those HIDs to high, I can see for MILES!
Other than that, If it dosen't offer High-Beams, I'm not interested

you make my brain hurt...
they do offer high beams its just a more expensive kit. and how the hell do you know where i live? your more of an internet creep then i thought. i work out in the middle of no where. i've hit deer with more vehicles then i can count. i know about pitch black i drive though it every night. and of course your driving beams and halogens are going to put out more light then HIDs. you have 2 sets of lights going vs. 1

Well if you look in the top right-hand corner of your display name it says: "Location: Minneapolis"
It dosent take a rocket scientist to read....
I think I'll go that route. Let us know how it goes
