Taking apart the headlights in an 08

Before I got my F150 I had a couple of cars that I modified. Some of these I took the headlights apart to color match to the car. My last car was black so I just bought black headlights. My F150 is dark blue and I want to color match them. Have any of you ever taken the headlights apart?

I think they baked them in the oven to melt the silicone, type ''I painted my headlights black" in the search bar and see what comes up.

That did it. Thanks. Guess I should have expanded my search. I see most people get the "rainbow effect" from the heating (common with lexan) so I guess I will avoid that and just get the HD's or maybe one of these:

I will do a search on them before I start asking questions about them. LOL

Nevermind, I just read the other thread about halo's. Don't want to rehash all that. Was just thinking about them for the HID's.

You can always go for the projector headlights with the black housing or just get the black FX2 headlights.
