Question Headlight/Lamp Swap

So... I have no idea where to put this, as there wasn't a specific forum out there for me to put this in. Anyway, I LOVE the looks of the HD headlights for the (I think) '04+ models. Do those swap over to '99 easily, or is it not worth it? The problem I've found (but I've only done about an hour worth of browsing) is that the lights with the look of the HD lights are all projection lights, and I've had bad experience with projection lights. Namely, I can't see anything that isn't right in front of me, giving nighttime driving a bit of a tunnel-vision effect... (not safe/desirable). So like I said, is it possible (within reason) to swap my '99 lights with HD lights?

Yeah we need more clarification here. Are you wanting to do a front end change cause 04's and 99's are two different body styles. Also, the HD's lights are NOT projectors so whatever your looking at isnt a real HD lamp.

Yes. I have a '99 F150, but I love the HD lights. But they didn't come until '04 (I think). So I wanna know if the HD headlights will fit on my '99.

As for the projector comment, I think I was trying to say that some of the aftermarket lenses that I can buy for a '99 look similar to the HD's, but the aftermarket ones are projection lights, and I don't like those.

true. they were clear with an orange reflector on the bottom.

if you are looking for black ones, your are gonna have to get some aftermarket ones. or you can always get some clear lighting or STX lights and paint them

Thanks for the info, guys. Maybe I'll get some old body style HDs and paint them? Haven't decided. I really just like the looks of the new model HDs, and the fact that they aren't projection lamps make them winners. I have seen some similar aftermarket ones, but they were projection lamps. I'll keep looking around.

Plus, I prefer either all white or all black (probably all white, as I have the two-tone toreador red w/ gold trim -- Lariat package -- and I feel that dark red with black lenses looks kinda odd.). Truth be told, I probably need to do some more looking around and figure out what is a priority for me, as I am on a VERY tight budget right now...
