[IMG][/IMG]Any suggestions on Bull Bars? Does anyone have the Smitty Built Grill Guard(Bull Bar)? I really want black since I got Hela black head lights, grill and my truck has no chrome except the wheels which are going away for black on chromes.

 

I got the westin and am very happy with it.

 

I have a bull bar (Westin) and it has been ok for the 10 years it's been on my truck. The 2 complaints I have are: a) You either lose your tow hooks or modify them to work with the bar, and b) it takes a fair amount of your approach angle. I notice this when I trout fish. We drive down some not so steep banks to unload canoes and gear and then back straight up the banks. I have dragged my bar every single time and have put some good scratches and dents on the bottom side of it.

i have the black Westin and am very happy with it so far. I dont mind losing the tow hooks. got mine for $280 off ebay.

im sure the smitty built woudl suit your needs as well, if you like that one better, get it.

 

Anybody heard of the E-Series bullbar from Westin? It's a cheaper version of the chrome plated one and is just polished SS.

 

believe it or not most bull bars are manufactured in the same place...
no difference between westin and many other cheaper brands found in store and on ebay other then the westin logo cut into them...
which can be done in their factory or where they order them from... so don't let brand name be a sole factor in the end its all the same.

 

Aries bull bar here. Looks like westin except skid plate cut out is different. I only paid $160 on ebay

 

That's the one I am going to get. Just don't know if I want black or stainless ?
Any ideals on what you all think would look best? Don't know why it put a link instead of the pic, but here it is.

 

I have to disagree there is a differance from the differant Bull Bars Ive seen before buying my Westin Bull Bar. Im no expert and didnt test the metal but could look at the chrome on them and others looked cheaper. I also know Westin backup there products with a nice warrenty. Do the cheaper/ebay brands have any warrany just curious? BTW Im not saying the Aries bull bars are cheap.

warranty yes.. thats a difference between companies...

but in most cases its the same product. i have worked for a performance company here in canada and have done product research on many companies n which we all love and adore and find majority of their stuff is bought from factories oversees and anyone can buy the same thing branded whatever you want as long as you can afford the minimum quantity order...

i'm sure the products were the same... but because its westin name you mind tells you to think its better.

 

I would put a black one on your truck. Ive been looking at the SmittyBilt bars on ebay for about 150 bucks.

Have any of you guys found a way to keep your towhooks with a bullbar? I wouldnt mind having a bullbar, but there is no way Im ditching my towhooks just for a little eyecandy and a place for some lights....
Im sure I could fab something up, but you would think these companies would make something up so you can still have the towhooks.
