wow my old thread pops up again!
Ill see if i can get pics of the puddle lamps at night, but most of the time the camera tends to flash and it washes out the light in the reflection of the truck or it will only pick up the bright spots and not show anything else.
Trucks at the body shop right now getting painted and fixed from a break-in... so no pics till sat night at the earliest.
Guys in all honesty, it will take quite a bit of cash to make me do that all over again. Not just because i would charge that much, but simply because i got a steal on the mirrors, im sure they are expensive, and just to cut them all up... And then they have to be rewired with the correct male plugs which im sure would be a hassle to find. the harness cost 45 bucks or so, at two your looking at $90 just to have the parts to wire them!
Although i must say i learned quite a bit, so the next go round would definantly be easier!
Its not as easy as making a mold, the whole mirror mounting assembly is different, so you would need a backplate mold and an adapter to bolt them in. With the wiring I got lucky and i know some people, so i was able to get a harness off of a broken mirror.
I do take a little pride knowing my F150 is the only one sporting those mirrors, but you know what they say, money talks bs walks.
If you guys are serious, PM me, but please be well aware of what your getting into.
heres a breakdown of the parts needed. You can look them up and see the prices just so you know what something like this would cost.
You need:
A pair of 08 expy or navi mirrors. None power fold prefered unless you already have that option in your truck. but it may require extensive rewiring to be compatible.
two wiring harnesses for the F150 deluxe mirror package, the ones with power mirror, heat, and led turns, as well as puddle lamps if you can get those. easy to wire if you dont.
Most expy navi mirrors with those options have the memory function, so if your truck doesnt, you should consider also picking up two new F150 power mirror motors just to make it easier on the wiring. (memory mirrors may be compatible with non memory wiring, i didnt check and had the regular non memory spare motors so i used them)
The next major price item is having them painted, since the back plate will have to be custom fiberglassed. factory black texture is acheiveable but will probably the same if not more expensive for me to match so painting is the way to go. It just looks nicer anyway.
All this wont include the metal for the adapters, nore any of the mounting points, and the hands on custom work on that to get it to line up correctly and look like it belongs there.
You guys are looking at a grand if not more to have the same setup. IMO that is quite pricey for mirrors. I did mine for right around 350. but i just happen to be at the right place and time for the parts and wiring.

I didnt scare any of you guys off did i?
Go out and scrounge around for parts, the rest is in the thread, its really easy to achieve a custom look for a little money. The hardest thing on this thread is knowing how to fiberglass.
My stuff came out cheap, and to replicate it would be expensive, but go out and find some nice stuff and create your own custom mods. Dont be discouraged!

Holy crap!!! !! What a job!! They came out terrific. They are truely unique and you are a master. You've got to be dedicated to your truck to go through all that. Conrats on an amazing transformation.
Thanks for all the comments guys, you should all see what im cooking up now lol
yep pretty much. i ran both wires over to the drivers side kick panel cause for the life of me i couldnt find the light circuit over in the pass side.
They are doing just as great as when i posted these pics. My divers side cap has a large chip in it due to a truck slinging rocks down the freeway... so i just gotta get that pulled and reshot. Other than that they are doin just as good as any OEM mirror.

expy mirror
I have a set of Expy mirrors that I got to install on my truck till I noticed they didn't fit the door, lol Then I saw this post and thought damn.. why couldn't I have the talent to do that.. I have 09 Tow mirrors now, so these are up for grabs.. the only thing they need is the covers, and a good home. PM me.
All in due time young grasshopper lol.
This next one has been a long slow project. I want to make sure everything is perfect before it is installed and then pics will be posted.
My buddies at the body shop have been wondering what the hell i have been building and where it will go for well over three months now
