any and all input is appreciated. Really not sure which one to go, not even sure how different each one is. Never was into "modding" my headlights before. Thanks

Planning on HIDs?

The only one of those I like is the first one.

Personally I wouldn't go with some inexpensive aftermarket lights like that. I've heard of lots of problems with leaks, scratched lenses, etc. I've never had any personally.

If you're looking for the projector though, that'll be your easiest way.

What's wrong with painting the stockers? It's easy and cheap

If you were closer I'd trade ya and just do it again.

Thanks for the heads up. I am always iffy on buying things from E-bay. Thats why I love being able to ask on this site. And I originally wanted to just paint my heads, but now i think i may want to go a bit brighter. Some of these blacked out "back roads" i take can get pretty dark. Not too sure, just fishing for some ideas.

** Right now I am saving up in my "truck fund" for a new front/rear bumper, winch and some new gears so i was hoping on some of the "cheaper" mods I wanted done.

yep.. and light output / scatter is totaly different from oem.. so expect worse output imo from what i've seen.

if you truly truly had to pick i''d go with the first one. but i hate after market headlights.. imo i'd just get some hd headlights or bake and paint your o ones black..

Are you worried that painting your's will make the light out-put less?

The only way that could happen is if you paint the reflector for the head lamp. Which wouldn't be smart anyway.

I've got mine painted and have HIDs and I absolutely love it. Some people complain about weird scatter with stock lights and HIDs, but honestly, I don't know why.

There is a definite cut off line on mine (as with OEM HIDs,) it's just not completely straight.

Now, if I go your route and paint my stock heads and put in HIDs don't I lose my high-beams ? I am wanting to get brighter lighting but keep my high-beam/low beam option.

there are generally 2 HID hi/lo kit types available

1-cheap version has an hid bulb and a halogen bulb. when 'hi' is selected the halogen bulb turns on and changes the colour of light output to reflect a colour change to oncoming traffic.

2-higher quality has a mechanism. when 'hi' is selected it moves and angles the bulb slightly to give it a true hi beam look and change of light.

i tend to stay away form ebay and online only companies do to warranty etc - if something happens will they be there to warranty it. price range is from 150-500$ depending on manufacturer and quality.

i'm one to like prolumin and ignited performance kits... i have and use 4 ignited performance kits on my truck and cars in the house.

I have one of the "cheap ebay ones."

It was 130$ including shipping. I've been very pleased with it. Installation is very straight forward (I can send you pics of everything if/when you do it.)

They are a Hi/Lo kit. Like he said, when you hit the high beams, it just angles the bulb differently.

I'm a little apprehensive as to how long they will last, but we'll see. I flash to pass just about everybody, and I've yet to see any lag-time or issues.

With mine, the ballasts are made by Hella ( )

The bulbs are Japanese as well as the Hi/Lo controller. The great thing about the particular ebayer I got mine from is that replacement bulbs are cheap. If anything breaks within the warranty period, (I can't remember how long,) you either send back the part, they'll check it for defects, or you send them 25$ and they send you the new part. Real simple.

Check out "flashplus" on ebay.

It took about 5 days for my kit to come in the mail from China. Could be more or less for you in Cali.

If you want more info on them, PM or e-mail me bud.
