Box Lights
Box Lights
Heres a mod i did so i can actually see whats in my box at night.

I installed two box lights (one on each side) in the back of my box. I attached them to the corner pillers because they provide a perfect channel for the wiring. Plus they work good there and are out of the way.

I drilled an either 3/8" or 1/2" hole for the wire loom (which popped through anyways) and ran the wires down the column.

I simply screwed the ground wire to the box when i attached the light to the frame. Use 1/2" self-tapping screws.

I then ran both wires to the hitch and tucked them up as far as i could and zip-tied them to existing wires.

Then i wired them to the 4-pin plug (easier access than the 7pin) and to the running lights wire (the brown one).
It was -20C when i did do it, so i did a bad job wiring it to the 4pin, but it works. The crappy part is i have to start my engine in order for them to work. It is good however because i always forget to switch them off, so now it can't drain my battery.
I'm gonna wire them to my cab and put a switch in this week when i install my reverse backup lights, so i can use them without starting my truck, but i wont forget to turn them off cause the switch is in the cab.

The end result.
good idea, i gotta do something like that soon, its impossible to see in the back of the screw when the tonneau is down and holding a flashilght is too much work
you could always add some super white bulbs or leds to make it even brighter too.
