Dude, once again your truck looks SICK. One of the best looking older style F150s out there for sure. Well anyhoo...Im thinking of giving this a try...but I got a few questions. About how much will this all cost? And as far as the process goes...sand them downl lightly with 2000 grit sandpaper while applying water. After that spray a few light coats of nightshades. Let try and than spray a few coats of clear coat? And you said this can all be purchased at any autoparts store? thanks for any help...

it was duplicolor clear coat from autozone. i wonder if it was bad. the last time i used it, it actually made is glossy. they look ok, but not how i want them. i think im gonna go to a body shop and have them sprayed with a real clear coat. hopefully they will be shiny. im not sure what i did wrong

man, this company should be paying us, this web site got a lot of their business.

mmmbuckles, sand the clear with 1000-2000, which ever you have, and give them another light coat, then one heavy coat, but dont run it. I think you can save them.

So your saying after you put on your first clear wait to dry and sand that? Than add 1 more light coat...let dry than 1 more heavy coat. If you could do a post with detailed step by step instructions that would be awesome cuz I dont wanna screw up my tails...

cdnance: they were solid clear before.

mgp: Scuff the lights with 2000, put on 2 coats of black, wait about 30 seconds between coats, give it one more good coat, kinda heavy, but dont run it. sand with 2000, to get all the roughness out, if any, spray 2-3 coats of clear, wait about 30 seconds between coats, then 1 final heavy coat. That should be good, thats all i did and mine turned out slick
