As far as removal goes, you have to depress the tabs on the inside of the mirror that hold it on. To do this, you have to adjust the glass to the extreme positions to see the tabs.
Thanks!

Couldn't i just remove my peice and prime them and get them painted?!

Yes, you certainly can. Just be careful that you don't snap the retaining tabs off bud.

Thank you! Any idea on how much it would cost to get them paint matched?

Are they for the 04-07 years?

I can't tell and doing a search it looks like they only have 03 and 04 Heritage.

The first digit(7) of the part# indicates it is a 2007 part#.

ncf150sc,

Do you know the part #'s for the chrome covers(caps)? Also, would you know the part #'s for the bottom backing for the mirrors? I am wondering if I can replace the one piece back covers from my 05 and install the 2 piece 07 back mirror covers without having to replace the whole mirror assembly. The back covers for the 07 appear to be the same as the 05, just in 2 pieces instead of one.

Off topic but dude how did you get the pic of your truck to look like that? Looks almost 3D with the blurry backdrop. I want to do something like that, very cool

After reading this thread, I went out and pulled my mirror apart to see if it was a 2 piece cap, it's not. They are still one piece. More than likely, the PTM caps are smooth and paintable on top, and rough (like the original) on the bottom.

And yes, my truck is an 07, with the heated signal mirrors.

I used photoshop. I selected the truck. Inversed the selection and used the blur filter on the background.
