Painted Honeycomb Grille

I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I made a new thread about it because what I did was a little different than what everyone else has done.

I painted my grille to match my lower panel accent color. It was dull and faded and gray, but instead of painting it black like most people have done I decided to paint it Harvest Gold (or Arizona Beige... it's basically the same). I scuffed and sanded in each little honeycomb shape and had a friend of mine who owns an auto paint shop paint it with the Ford factory paint color. I am very happy with it. I did it a while ago but finally got around to taking some pictures:

Here's how it looks from far away:

Sorry the pics are so huge... Oh, by the way, my truck is dirty so just ignore that if you can.

What do y'all think? Patrick feel free to chime in...

I meant to ask, Patrick, if you painted yours yourself. I payed my friend 30 bucks to do it after I scuffed it...

just a thought

good color choice. painting the lower valance with the same shade would help complete the look.

That's a good point. I already have plans for the lower valance... I am going to swap it for an Arizona Beige valance with fog lights from a King Ranch/Expedition Eddie Bauer. I think that will look nice. I am also considering painting the bed rails that color, too, but I don't know how well the paint will hold up.

Thanks for the tip.

Thanks!

It may be a while before I get the KR valance because they are rare at junkyards and Ford wants $500 for the valance (without the fogs).

Maybe I'll just paint the valance I have and get a bull bar with lights...

Oh by the way what happened to your screw?
