window tint

Ive been looking at window tint and i decide to try to match fords. My truck is black and i want to go as dark as i can. How dark can i go in missouri? What kinds of tint are good. ive only heard of lumar and sungaurd. About much would it be to tint the side windows and back glass on a 04 reg cab?

Thanks

to hell with the legal limit! Ive got a black 03 fx4. limo tint looks great on these trucks. here in fl the legal limit on the front windows is 35%, and the ticket is $75. i haven't had any problems with the cops yet, and i even got the whole windshield tinted at 50%. trust me, go as dark as you want, and you won't reget it.

Ditto, I've got 20% on the front, solorgard HP smoke 20% and it's a great match, looks the same from outside, just a shade of difference on the inside. If you're considering doing it yourself, check out this link, http://www.snaptint.com/car_tint_For...uck_front.html. Custom cut for your windows! I did my front windows in about 45 minutes, looks great, glad I didn't spend more having a shop do it. Just depends on how comfortable you feel trying it.

how much do yall think it would it roughly cost to get the side windows(front and back) and the back glass done on an 04' reg cab?
most just have to get the front ones to match the back but mine arent tinted at all.
Thanks

Here in MS they make you get a tint certification sticker. I still haven't gotten one and pass through roadblocks and speed traps with ease. Most just don't want to fool with it. Some states say they are going to "crack" down, but don't provide the meters to the police.

long story short....what everyone else said. Go with what you want

Depends where you are at. I would say you could be looking at maybe $115 ~ $140 for everything.

35 % is the legal limit in missouri. as far as pricing just call around to some places. where abouts do you live? cause i know certain areas where some cops do crack down on that. my buddy got pulled over and hassled with a ticket about a month ago. so i guess if you do get whatever you want, make sure you arnt doing anything else illegal that they might find out about at the same time.

I just had 35 put on my two side windows and it was about 135 installed with lifetime no fade national warranty. Maryland law says 50% tint, but that is really light, the back windows are 20 from the factory and I wished I would have gone darker, the 35 looks a little lighter than I was expecting. Just driving back from the tint place I noticed a lot of cars with darker tint on the side windows. I did worry about seeing a reflection of the interior at night with a darker tint though, anybody notice this with the darker tints?

wow lrg that site is awesome. i just ordered my front window kit i hope it works out as easy as you say cause for the price you cant beat it compared to what a shop would charge. thanks a lot i wonder if snap tint is a sponsor on this site cause im sure they would get a lot of business with their link all over the place.

Well the first thing i wil ask is do you drive at night, because if you do, and you have limo tint on the front side windows you will hate it. I am speaking from experience, as my 2004 F150 i had them tint all the windows, excluding the windshield limo black, and it was very hard to see anything at night. I didnt even tint the front windshield either, and i imagine tinting that as well would make it even harder to see at night.

My new F150 i only tinted the front windows to match the factory tint in the back, and then did the limo black on the rear windows, and it is much better for driving at night. I do like the limo tint during the daytime though, but the problems it causes at night arent worth it to me!

Look up the vehicle code for your state, or call the local cops. I'm sure they'd be able to tell you.

***Update*** I found this table on the Llumar website.

State Law chart

I have 5% all the way around on my truck, and I have no regrets. I love it to death. I am wanting to tint the windshield but like stated above that would make things pretty difficult. I have gotten 1 ticket, but been pulled over and warned about 4 or 5. Most cops complaints is my brow, but most cops arent very strict on that. The cop that gave me a ticket was a jerk though. Just make sure you get pulled over by the nice cops. lol

I just got my regular cab tinted today. They used 20% Lumar (which they said was closer to a 15% than a 20%) and I'll say the match is very close. The price was $35 for each roll-down and $10 for each small side window. Total price was $90 plus tax.
