Painted my Headlights
Painted my Headlights
I decided to change the headlights on the truck since I'm not really a big fan of chrome at all! To add to the fact that I didnt want to spend money on a company work truck and get blacked out headlights. So I slapped the headlights in the oven and took out the screws and pulled them apart.
Heres how they came out

Now ..stupid question coming up
what does that mean....more details please on how to do this stunning mod.
Heating them in the oven softens the glue, so you can separate the front clear part from the rear plastic part.
I've seen it done on previous generations.......but from what I've read it couldn't be done to these latest models.
So much for that theory.

I "slapped them in the oven" to knock that darn myth loose....
I put them in at 250 degrees for 8 minutes, like Kool Aid said its to make the glue soft enough to pry apart. You can put them right on the rack, that temperature isnt hot enough melt the plastic. I should add to be able to get to the screws that hold the plastic together (there are two per headlight and they use a small torx bit) you will need to drill two hole to be able to get to the screws.
I used a flat black. Personally I would use black on any color, but thats just personal preference.
