Third Brake Light

Can the third brakelight in the 1997 F150 Flareside be replaced with the 2004 - 2006 version without modification?

I doubt it. It has a completly different shape.

best upgraded 3rd brake light for our bodystyle is the LED lightning light that was on production lightnings from 01-04.

They usually go for around 100 shipped on ebay
