Thumbs up Tailgate Damper

I came across this product a couple of months ago, tried it and love it. It is a damper you install on your F150 tailgate so you can open without the worry of it slamming open. I like it and thought I would share.

Check it out, www.ezdown.com.

Looks great but I have to ask what the foam and shrink wrap has to do with it. I saw the vid with him sticking it on the OEM cable and was just wondering what purpose it has.

I think the foam is to keep the cable from pinching between the gate and bed.

That is cool. Anyone actually use one? Commercials always make it look great, I was wondering what anyones actual experience was?

To answer the last couple of questions yes and yes. I have one on my truck and really find it useful. The website says it fits from '99 to current. So it should fit your truck.

Hope this helps.

squared80,

According to Cindy at Ezdown, the kits for the 2003 F-150 should be available around September 06. The connecting hardware and damper for the 2003 models will be slightly different than the new model trucks.

Bought a damper and it was delivered this last week. Installed it tonight. Install took 15 minutes. Works great and the wife is pleased to say the least.

Ford should make this a standard option like Nissan did with the Titan liftgate. I am sure at production level volumes the price would be much lower than $60.

I bought a EZ down for my 2006 Supercrew about two weeks ago.
I will admit the thing does what it is said to do, and install was simple.
It dos what it claims, and that's all you can ask for now-a-days....
