You can tell its taken a beating over the last year, and it will come clean, those are water spots you see all those white lines and such... And remember i did not use a clear coat on it.

But it still looks amazing when you arent taking close up pics. This picture was taken maybe 10 minutes after the above pics

And I just used off the shelf black paint from autozone that said it was for interior exterior plastic peices.

Painted Grille, Valance and Surround

I know this is an old thread but for your info. I took my grill surround, grill and FX2 valance to a bumper repair place (Bumper Medic) and and got them color matched.
Turned out great. They scuff, seal, prime and paint. Lifetime warranty. Matches perfectly. Paid:$225.00

nice, kinda high price there though, compared to a $5.00 can of paint, but having it pro painted vs spray can painted will definatly last longer.

I am thinking of painting my grille white to match the truck. I have a white Lariat with the beige honeycomb and I don't really like it and I don't think it would look better going black. I also plan on pulling the headlights apart and painting the light surrond white. I have a spare headlight apart already and will be doing a test spray to see if I like it before I do the ones on the truck.

I painted the spare headlight I have to see what it looks like. As of this point I am undecided if I like it or not on the truck. I will try and get a pic so you can get an idea of what it looks like. I may just do it so it looks different then everybody else's.

Nice work

You really made a difference in the look of the truck with just a bit of paint and elbow grease. It's hard to beat the look of a blacked-out honeycomb grill. I am planning on ridding myself of the billet grills and getting a honeycomb.

Lol here I go reviving an old thread again..looks sharp. I'm getting tired of looking at my dark shadow gray grille and valence, been thinking of painting them black to match my black paint.

That looks nice, my truck is the same color. The only difference is mine is an xlt sport, so the bumpers are black to match my paint. I was thinking of painting my grille and lower valence black, but maybe I'll just paint the grille..looks good, and will still match my bed rails and rear rocker panels.
