Antenna
Antenna
Is it possible to remove the antenna off of a f150? It has the black base at the bottom and i was wondering if that comes off, and if so, does it have a hole in it? I never listen to the radio, just cds, so i want to get rid of my antenna cuz it looks goofy and it always hits stuff when im driving. Thanks.
You can unscrew the antenna from the base (yes, it will leave a hole-fill hole with clear cauking). You can remove the base and the antenna (Yes, it will leave a big hole-quick fix includes a metal patch, welder, grinder, primer and paint).
I'm afraid to ask, but I'll ask anyway; what do you hit with the antenna while driving?

Yeah I accidentally broke the threaded part off my antenna mast, so I just took the base off too. Underneith there is a hole about the size of your pinky or so, and 3 little screw holes around it. I drove around with it like that for a couple months, wasnt real noticable. Then I made a little plate thing to go over all the holes, in had it all painted and ready to put on(I was actually just going to superglue it on lol) and it got all bent out of shape. Ran the antenna down inside the fender and still got decent reception. Now I have some goofy a$$ flexible antenna from Walmart on it. I dont get crap for reception and everyone plays around with it since its all flexible to pi$$ me off. I think Im going to start taking the antenna off everytime I see someone playin with it and beat them with it.
Once you have the mast screwed off, pry the black cover thing off with a screwdriver, then unscrew the base from the fender.
