Question Anyone have color matched BUGFLECTOR II?

I am wanting to buy a bug guard. I am debating on the LUND Interceptor and have it painted on the back, or buy a BUGFLECTOR II color matched. I have heard from those with painted to match bug guards.

Anyone have the color matched from autoventshade BUGFLECTOR II?

If so does it match good?

Has it faded?

Has it warped?

Thanks

Not sure what you mean by color matched Bugflector II. I bought a clear Bugflector II and painted the back myself. It was pretty simple, I just lightly sanded the back and sprayed it the same color as my truck, then clearcoated it. It has held up with no problems for more than a year now.

What I mean by color matched is that you can order it by paint code.

I have a BugII. It came clear and the dealer painted it. I don't like the scratches that I can see through it from where they "roughed it up" on the back side, and my hood barely closes. I've had to slam it with both hands since they put it on.
It looks good, but I hope it lives through the slamming.

I have one and have not had any problems with it. The paint match was good and the quality was good.

They paint the backside so there is no chipping from rocks.

I have had a bugdelfector II on my truck for a couple of months. I have not had any problems with it. I like it because it looks good and I did not have to deal with getting it painted.

Here is a picture of how it mounts to the underside of the hood.

<A HREF="http://gladstone.uoregon.edu/~jcraveir/bugIIattach.jpg" TARGET=_blank> </A>

It uses expanding plastic clips that mount in holes that are already there from the factory. It works kind of like a drywall screw mount. As you push the screw up through the plastic devise it expands against the back side of the hood and holds the shield in place. It is solid enough for me. There are 6 mounts total. I supose if you wanted to you could use some bolts to hold it on.

Sorry I forgot to mention that the paint code for bright red is E4.

You shouldn't have to slam it, sounds like something is out of adjustment. You will also want to make sure you put the little rubber bumpers on top of the grill surround where the BugII contacts it, otherwise it will rub the paint off.

No problem, it's a solid product. Like 2000Lariat said, make sure you put the little bump stops on the body itself. It's tempting to put them on the shield so you don't have to stick anything on your truck, but they will rub against that paint that way.

I have an oxford white Bugflector II. It is molded from a white plastic (not painted)and the color match is perfect. It blends in so well with color and the lines of the truck, it easily goes unnoticed.
I saw a smoked Lund shield in the parking lot the other day and it had weathered terribly. Hopefully mine will not.

Cool

SCOOBY14B,

I have a Buggflector II on my truck which is the dark smoke so I didn't have to paint it. It fits verry well and is very rigid compared to the "Flimsey" Lund. My dad has a Lund on his Truck and it flexes and waves as he drives down the road. Definitely go with the Buggflector II.

My $.02

Thanks,
Here is a pic of my truck with the Buggflector II on it.
