Red face WOW...new price for L lights

I just got off the phone with Gary @ fordpartsonline. New price for headlights is - retail - $197/each, his price per pair is $287.50, corners - retail $113.33 each, his price per pair $170, tails - retail $161.67 each, his price per pair $242.50.

Was really wanting to do this mod all the way around for about $350, but now it would cost $700. Just can't afford it.

Talk about price gouging. All for a piece of plastic. No thanks!

Substitute standard radiators when "extra duty cooling" has been paid for, almost triple the price of L lights just because they're a popular mod .... guess Jack has to pay for all those tire law suits somehow!

Question

Scooby,

I wanted to do the same thing - but forget it now!!!

Does anyone know where to get a good price on clear corner lenses??? Guess this will have to tide me over until they quit selling so many L lights and drop the price back down.

Ditto, ditto, ditto! I think there is a difference between supply and demand and gouging. Ford is entitled to make a decent profit - they'll argue they "owe it" to their stockholders! But to triple the price?! We spend around 30 grand for one of their trucks and try to tailor it to our likes and they sock it to us. I'm sure they made a handsome profit at 350. Maybe some entrepreneur will come up with a quality product at a reasonable price.

let me check at work, and see what my prices would be on those lights.. i checked last week and it was $140 a pair for the headlights, my cost, so figure to pay 160.. but the high demand and backorders on them.. ford probably figured they'd raise the price on them so they could keep up on production
