well do me a favor.. try and find someone with a bed liner that is 4-5 years old, that has been exposed to the elements, but washed regularly. Chances are it own't look like you'd be happy seeing it on the side of your truck years later. It's not something that can be undone by sanding off like a bad paint job.

Hey,

If you wanna see my truck I got the bed Line-Xed because the old F-150 with Rhino when I bought it used was not holding stuff so well from moving in the bed. Just let me know. I am living in town and working at the family store on the square. Hope you are doing well.

If you can find out the % of solids that the material is,then it would be easy to figure the amount of material required, Theoretcally, any material that is 100% solids will cover 1604 square feet at 1 dry mill ( 1/1000 ) of an inch, so lets say that the line ex material is 70% solids then you would multiply
.70 times 1604 divided the manufacturers dry film thickness lets say 15 dry mills or 15 1/1000 of an inch
then it would be .70 times 1604 divided by 15 would equal ? the total square footage per gallon.
then all you have to figure is any loss from application and the total square footage involved. how many gallons and weight per gal.
It's not often I get to share that with anyone.

Oh by the way I am a paint inspector for Shell.
Now if I could just get someone to help me with my post in the Engines forum ?

I guy I work with had his jeep comanchee completely sprayed a few of years ago and it still looks pretty cool. He even had his diamond box sprayed as well. He doesn't do any off roading but under normal conditions and care it seems to be holding up well.

Thanks Scott...how goes it? Anyway, I'd like to see one that's about 3 - 4 years old. Archer, has it lost any of it's shine / glossy finish? Does he happen to have a pic? Thanks for your time man.

Hey Adam, It is going fine, just work and hanging out. I heard you got married, thats awesome man. I also heard that Sonny is leaving. I talked to him the other day on the phone. My Line-X is about a year old now and I got it in Lees Summit. I never noticed tons of gloss and shine in it to begin with, but I like it more then the Rhino liner. I am gonna hit the sack, but have a good day and I can't wait to see the supercharger if you get one and the Line-X if you do it. I think your truck would look sharp stock or Line-Xed, whatever sounds good to you.

Jakal,
I talked to the guy this morning and he said he had it done 6 years ago and it still looks great. He is going to take a Pic and send it to me. I'll forward it to you as soon as I get it.

Archer

I have seen several places with different COLORS of bedliner material. Some even glo in the dark!!!

You might be able to use two or more colors on your truck. Might be kinda cool to do an XLT color scheme in the bedliner material!!!

If it floats your boat, DO IT!

Good luck and take pictures.
