Question Installing billet grille!!!!! Help please!

Last weekend I baught the steele horse billet grille. It didn't come with any directions but I think I have an idea on how to do it after reading all the posts on my search and after looking ant the truck. Please tell me if this sounds correct.

This is a 97. I removed the sroud that covers the radiator. From there is looks like to get the whole grill of I need to remove a bunch of plastic clips along the bottom attached to a plastic flap.(any advice on getting these things out would be great,if I have to remove them. they are located between the grill and bumper in like 1.5"s of space). Then I need to remove the side marker by taking out 1 9/32 screw. Then remove a screw inside the light area and the entire grille will come out. Then to remove the grey honeycomb grille there are like 16 plastic melted tabs to cut and it will sperate from the grille frame. To install the billet grille it goes directly into the front of the truck via 4 brakcets and some screws(which were also not included but I have lots of screws laying around). then just put the grille frame back on and it will be going around the billet which is mounted to the truck.
Please tell me if this seems correct. Any advice is greatlly appreciated.
Thanks, JW

when i did mine 2001 may be dif not sure buit those little plastic plug bolt thingies hehe
i found easiest way was to take : 1" puddy Knife and get under it and twist and just slowy keep pressure on it and it will just pop out but be carefull not to break them or to slip and scratch something but it worked best for me reinstll is simple just push back in GOOD LUCK

Zacky is right on. I just installed a Black Stull Grille two weeks ago. The instructions were ok, until I got to the point where I tried to pull out the OEM grille after releasing the 2 plastic clips, 6 screws and the 2 screws on the corner turn signals.

What the instructions failed to say was that behind the corner turn signals (which you have to completely remove) is a tab with 2 more screws holding the front trim piece on.

If a guy is pulling too hard on the trim piece he could bust this tab off.

Be careful!

I installed one a while ago but took it off. The clips that you are trying to get off are easy. Get some pliers and grab hold of one of them. Twist a little and pull. They should just pop right out of there, isn't a big deal. Once you're done, pop them right back in there. I'll bet if you get on their sitr you can probably get some instructions, but I may be wrong. Shouldn't be too hard to put on though. Good Luck!

I just put the same billet grille on my 97 Eb. The little black cips under the grill I had to cilp off. the suckers didn't want to come out!!!! I know you can get them at the dealer ship pretty cheap. And has far has the rest of the install it sounds like you already know what you are doing.
