Cool

2000regcab, would you send me the mastercam files for the 5.4 logo you made?? We have mastercam 7.2 and Pro-Machine here, so we can probably use whatever code you have.

If I can get the CNC code from 2000regcab, I can send the file right to the shop and get a price. The CNC guy here said they can put an aluminum bar in the machine and cut literally dozens of them at a time. After that, they would have to be painted, polished, and clearcoated. Our shop doesn't do that sort of finish work so I would have to send them out or finish them myself.

If I can't get the machine code from 2000regcab soon, I will sit down and make a Pro-E model and see what it looks like. Maybe I'll post a jpeg of the Pro-E file here and you guys can check it out before we cut metal. After all, I'm an engineer - not an artist. (the Pro-E model should only take an hour or two)

Oh, and once I get the details worked out on the 5.4 logos, I can take requests for others - 4.6, 5.0, S/C, LOBO, bite-me, or whatever.

Howies_effie....
Sounds terrific. I'm in.

I'm turing this over to you...if you don't mind.

I will get 2 5.4L and 1 5.4L S/C from you when you're done.

Thanks alot.
I wish I had the resources to make them, then I would do it no problem.
Just trying to help fellow effie owners out there.

Hey lariat4wd,

Glad to take over the 5.4 badge project. I hope I didn't come in here and step on anyone's toes. I am pretty busy this week so maybe I can get the badges out to the shop next week for a quote. After that, it may take a few weeks to fit them in the schedule.

Be patient!!

Howie.

Verdana or Tahoma are cool. Maybe something simple like Arial?

What do you think of my badge so far?

I drew the letters by hand since I can't find a font like the Ford used on the F-150 badge.

I am taking the file over to the shop right now for a quote.

Cool

Howies_effie,

The badges look great... I was thinking, what about putting an "L" after the engine size.... Not sure if it would look better. What do you think?

Cool

I took the drawing over to the shop and they are going to give me a quote next week sometime. I didn't even think about adding an L, as in 5.4L -- I guess I was thinking of the Mustang with 5.0 on the side.

I was thinking of making the first batch as "5.4" and then maybe the 2nd batch could include 5.4L and 5.4 S/C or whatever. It only takes an hour or two to do the whole thing on Pro-E so it is no big deal to change them around. We will have to see what the shop will charge and go from there.

Thanks for the support - I will keep you all posted!
