Exclamation HELP!! Clear Corners and Headlights

Okay. I got my Diamond Back clear corners yesterday and they are installed. They are really great looking. Now, I have a new dilemma --- since they are clear (looks like clear glass), they still look different than the headlights because the factory headlights are a bit frosted (whatever they call it). In other words, they are not perfectly smooth on the outside, as are my corners now.

Anyway, did anyone else run into this. They don't look bad, just different. Now as I look at other corners, I notice they do make some that look more frosted - not 100% clear. Is everyone out there replacing their headlights as well? I have to tell you, I think the look of the diamond backs are great, but really don't feel like paying anywhere from $200-$400 on headlights!!! Goodness, I only paid $26.00 + shipping for the corners. (Which was a heck of a deal.)

Any advice is appreciated!!!!!

Thanks,
Melissa

The 2001 Lightning head lights are $90.92 each from www.oemfordparts.com
They are not available until mid-March, but they are sweet.

See..

I am ordering mine in a week or so.

lariat4wd,

What are you doing about your corners? Are you ordering the Lightning ones, or keeping your factory amber, or ordering another brand?

Thanks, they are nice!

I have the frosted clears now. I am ordering the L corners though. Want to buy my frosted ones? They're only a few months old. I paid $35 on Ebay after shipping costs. Can't sell them until after I get the new ones though. They are $44.14 each from same place.

lariat4wd,

Do you have a picture? Either on your truck or off?

Thanks,
Melissa

lariat4wd,

Yes, they look like the exact ones I need to look better with the factory headlights. From one of your pictures, it looks as though you have the amber bulb still, right?

Email me and let me know what you want for them, including shipping and I will let you know. (I live in MD.) mwebber@kiva.net

Thanks!
Melissa

Do you think the 01 L headlights will fit my truck? It was man. in 6/96. I know the setup for the front lights are different for the trucks manufactured before 7/97.

I think 5/97-2001 is the cut off . also I talked to Fordparts.com and they said all the 2001 L stuff was stopped by Ford and they may or may not be able to sell it . Ford is now asking for VIN numbers and selling to 2K1 L's only. So you may get the L stuff but right now it's looking doubtful

Good question, King James. I know the corners won't work. I was curious about the headlights. I also have an early 97. I had to special order my clear corners. I want the crystal eyes, too. Maybe Roger Lemere will know something about it.

walker887, I heard the same thing. They told me people were buying the Harley F-150 stuff and Ford cut it off. I bet they will make it a lot more expensive anyway. That's what they did with the HD stuff.

Exclamation

I contacted www.oemfordparts.com and they said they haven't heard anything like that about the 01 L. Only the HD trucks...for now. I can't wait for my tails to get here. Then I will order the head & corners.
