Pyro,
you sound very young....IE your comment most people my age hate cops...Hey most cop hate kids with your attitude too, but we are here to help you anyway....Most Rookies pick on people because they are fresh out of the academy and know the traffic laws very well and are eager to use the knowledge....Since you know they are illegal already you are starting your own problems if you run into a eager officer...I have been in Law Enforcement about 20 years now and with your attitude I can see your insurance rates wont be going down anytime soon....Keep it legal, have fun, dont make yourself a target for anyone..that little infraction will get a officer into your space, and you dont want that.......
OK now that I am that subject, How bright are those strobes,I have seen them at PEP Boys and am curious.....

Oh and it doesnt matter if you can actually see the strobe or light......if you can see the colors it is illegal.....I have blue lights under my truck and I only turn them on in parking lots, or away from site...I too can get pulled over, some of those Rookies give us tickets too......For real..Dave

Here's the deal...they are illegal if you have them ON, on a public road. I installed a nice Whelen strobe system in all the front and back lights. When they are off, you can't tell anything is there, but when they're on, watch out. I left mine on during a show this summer and took 1st place in my class.

Cool

Pyro (and anybody else if it applies)

You only need to post your signature once per thread, ok? We all saw it the first time, and it says a lot. However, you reeeeaaaallly eat up a lot of bandwidth by posting it every time. Thanks.

As for the strobes being on all the time, there is a certain amount of class in being more subtle than constant attention getting...kinda a walk softly or I'll hit you with my big schtick thing....

First, I am with everyone else. I truly believe that they are illegal. But Do as you will. Second. In my state under 35% window tint is Illegal. Here is my comment. I have seen some Police officers in there personal vehicle that had Limo tint. They should know that it is illegal being officers themself, but they still do it. Just my 2 cents worth.

Once more question. Pyro? What do you do for a living being only 16 and affording all that for your truck.

I know this thread started awile ago. But since Turtle lives an Arizona and I do to maybe my 2 cents can help. The Pima County Sheriffs Depatment down here in Tucson gives no breaks for lighting violations. In the past 2 years there have been 6 carjackings in the Tucson area. They were using strobe lights to pull over there victims on back roads. Then they would take there car at gun point. There has even been a case where they dressed up as Deputy Sheriffs and did this. Because of this being in the public eye they will give you a huge citation ($500.00). I dont know how it is up in mesa, but we all go by the same Arizona law. I know this is only an effect on public roadways not on private. So if you were in a parking lot or something you could do it. If you do have them make sure you dont use them on the street. You can see the strobe lights for miles away. And I am sure the cops can to. Other then that, I think they look cool. To bad criminals make lawmakers ruin the good folks fun!

Well, I am going to get my 2 cents in. I wouold not take the chance of strobe lights. Some of my friends dads are cops, and they are good people and they are out to do good. The ligths will set off sensors in california or at least on some ligths, and therefor you get a major fine, or at least that is what I was told. I am young myself just about 18, and do not do a darn thing to tick of the cops on me. I keep my fun to the legal sorts, and if I will go fast, I go to roads where the police don't go, as in closed roads.

If you don't want to get pulled over, then don't do stuff against the law. Sure cops can be ****s!!!, but on the most part they are not, and are out to do good, but the best of luck to you if you put them on because they do look phat.
