the only problem is that those Grant styling rings only cover the front half of the wheel. My tear will still show where it's at. Plus i had a carbon fiber one and it cracked and broke.

Tim, You might not need that airbag now, but they are mighty handy when you do need them. Ever considered just replacing your wheel with another Ford OEM? By the way, I might be taking a new job in Bentonville, how do you like NW Arkansas?

Northwest AR isn't bad. I like it. You will have to get with me when you move here. I have considered a new wheel, but, a new LEATHER wheel from ford is like $375. Plus i believe it will wear and tear just like the original. I have had a real bad experience with airbags, so, i doubt i will miss it. But i understand how much it would help though. I just want a grant though.

Post aftermarket steering wheel

I have a Lariat with the leather wheel. Well, after about three years of constant gripping, the leather is tearing, bad. I covered it with a leather wheel cover made by wheelskins. It's nice and all, but it is wearing fast. Like three months and it's shot. I was wanting to replace with a Grant wheel. I have no use for airbags and just want a new wheel. Does anyone make a install kit for the 97 and up effies? Any alternatives other than a new wheel?

Well If It were me I'd leave the Airbag in there. But Just My Opinion. Here's an Option

Its a Synthetic Wood Styling Ring, Comes in different Colors and Carbon Fiber Too

Some people have ordered the 94-96 wheel, looks identical. For some reason the earlier wheel is about $175,there's no explaining that one I guess,,,,98

Does the 94-96 wheel have airbags? So, if they are the same, would the 80-96 Grant wheel adapter kit work with my truck? I might have to do some lookin'.

I bought a black leather wheel for my '97 F-150(Ford P/N "F75Z-3600-AAB"). Cost was $142.86. Had Ford dealer install it at a later date, at a cost of $65.95. When I got the truck back, the cruise control and horn didn't work. Decided to take the airbag off myself and investigate rather than going back to dealer and leaving truck all day. Found that the professional technicians who installed the new wheel had forced the horn electrical connector back on and bent 2 of the 5 prongs out of position. Bent them straight again with tweezers, and everything worked.
