Arrow Cheap Modifications

Hey Guys - I need your advice. I just started modifying my '97 Expy and I have a problem. I very quickly ran out of money. My question to the masses is if anyone knows of appearance modifications that take more time than money. I have plenty of time and patience. I just want your ideas to help my truck look great while I build up my cash flow. Thanks in advance

Find the front clips of a Navigator piece by piece at insurance junkyards and bolt it on. That should keep you busy for a while.... :-) I know what oyu mean about the money... so far, I bought the lumilogo, clear corners, and stainless trailer ball and cushioned hitch, and earlier I ordered my brush guard and first set of lights... There goes a quick grand! Time to start working some more overtime.... ;-)

Cool

Tell me about it. I just got married. Yikes. Been a month and a half already. I just ordered my brush guard and a few other little things to go with my new Westin step bars... . I just bought clear corners, slotted tail light covers, and am just waiting to put them on. They both cost me $65 together. Kind of a cheap mod, but look good. Visit my web site and see my truck...and my other stuff...like, wedding, and jokes pages. See sig. below. Good Luck Bigworm. There are many of us in the same boat as you, trust me. I would love to get a Kenne Bell SC, but my new wife doesn't think I should spend $5K on something that may void my $33K truck that's warranty that's 2 months old. Maybe she's right.....naaaa.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys - Keep those ideas coming - I am taking notes
Lariat - Love those bumper lights, I don't think I have the courage to cut the bumper. Second that wife motion, just broke a year and we have a brand new baby boy - changes those priority - My truck moved down the list quite a bit

I need some more pics so I can show this one,but painting the outer edges of the headlights and corners semi gloss black looks pretty sharp. I'll try to post some pics soon. It may take a while,as I am packing to move again(do it once a month)I posted a topic on this a long time ago,but never shot any photos of it yet.
I'll get them done this week and post them,,,,,,,98

What about stripping the black paint off of your side and tailgate emblems to make them solid chrome looking? I haven't done this (opted to replace them with LOBO badges), but others on this board have done it. Looks pretty sharp and shouldn't cost a cent.

Ford made those emblems.
Lobo means 'Wolf'.
Lobo is also what the F150 is called down in ole Meh-he-coe.

I did a double take the first time I saw an F-150 when I was in Cozumel. Can you order those from the American dealers,or do you have to go to Mexico to get them?
They would look good with the black paint stripped off. What can you use to take the paint off, without melting the plastic?
