Off road lights
Well I know they used to sell KC's at Waly World, so I knew they couldnt be the best. So I did a little research and emailed some people. I have found a pair of NON-hid lights from a new company called Light Force. They are much brighter than KC's. This link shows the power outage, http://www.off-road.com/projectjeep/...orce/graph.jpg
They are 9.5" in diameter, and weigh only 16 ounces. Much nicer than a KC. I dont know bout price though. Although KC maybe a good deal, but they aren't the best. No way something sold at Wal-Mart could be the best.

Rusty, you are dead wrong buddy. I saw Light Force up close and personal at the SEMA show. They are not brighter than the Daylighters. They had there brightest light there and I saw it, doesn't even come close. I'll take those Light Forces and out shine them anyday. That graph is messed up, says that PIAA is on the bottom, when they should be closer to the top, and all the numbers are wrong, Daylighters have 385,000 candlepower, not 174. I know is messed up when Bosch is up there. Dumb aussies. If those aren't the ugliest lights you have ever seen, then something is wrong.
hey mudder, not only that but it lists a PIAA that doesn't even exist! LOL. It lists a PIAA 150... the only thing I can think of that they are messing up is that they might be thinking of the PIAA 1500, which is one of PIAA's lowest end lights.
Seriously, that graph looks like something that someone made up to make there product look better. I've never seen a bosch off-roading light but I've seen there regular lights and unless there off-roading lights are about a million times better, then theres no way they'd be brighter then a KC or PIAA anyday.

Well this info came from Off-Road.com. I would trust people who have tried them ALL. Since off-road.com does build project vechiles and does test alot of off road stuff. Mudder, have you seen both KC and Lightforce tested in the dark?
Hey Check the price on the Liteforce's
They are TWICE as expensive as KC's
I think the 6 inches were well over 100 a piece ( no covers, no switches etc)
I have the prices in an email at Home I'll post them up later.

The price is right. I called Central 4 Wheel Drive, 9" are $99, and 6" are $50 something. Plus I would pay more, for something that is much brighter. I checked around about the 700 some odd thousand candlepower on the 9", and it is right. I didnt find anything on the 6"'s power though. I want the 9"'ers but they wont fit on my brush guard, so I have to settle for the 6" ones. Also since the Lightforce lights only weigh 1lb, the dont vibrate as much as the heavier KC's. Nothing personally against KC's, I'm sure they are ok, but I want something that is really good for the money. 9" Lightforce, 729,600 candle power vs. KC Daylighter, 385,000 candle power (so ya'll say). That much difference for less than $50, cant beat it.

Off-road.com is also a sponsored website. Just something to consider. I've never seen the lightforce but I highly doubt it's claims, maybe some day I'll see one and be proven wrong, but I doubt it.
I find it very hard to believe that a "special" type of bulb (100 watt) can put out 700,000+ candle power. I remember **** Cepek had some 230 watters or so with more candle power than the KC's, but had to have a special airflow vent to reduce overheating and the vehicle had be in motion.

Yeah they are a sponsored site, but I have never seen advertisement for it either, havent really searched hard for it either. I talked to other people who sell both, they said Lightforce was better too. Also KC is halogen, Lightforce is Xenon, much brighter no matter what. I've seen KC's in action, they are fairly good, I will admit, but I'll tell ya which are better after I get my 6" Lightforces mounted. If you havent seen them in action, then you should at least keep an open mind to them. I've seen Warn, Hella's, and KC's. Warn were the nicest I have seen ,(had a hi and lo beam), not sure if they were brighter though.
RustyF1504x4,
Give it a try and let us know what you think of them. Be sure to take a pic, I would like to see the beam pattern and color.
A few months ago, I went out and bought the PIAA Pro80XT's because I thought they were the best. After, installing some KC's next to them. I realized that the KC's put out better light. I was disappointed after spending $200+ on the PIAA's. Live and learn I guess. Good luck.

Well, here is they way I see it. I have 12 KC's, 10 of them our the 385,000 candlepower ones. When they are all on, no other lights can compare, and this is true. I am very happy with the way it looks when I cut them all on in the dark of night, in my pasture, or on old two lane county roads, a hell of a site either way. Road signs will get so bright and shiny that they are hard to look at, from 600 yards, or 3 miles, doesn't matter. 4,184,000 candlepower tells no lie.
I'm in the middle

OK to solve everyones problem with the off road lights..just duct tape a couple of rechargeable mag lights to your tow hooks and be done with it...ater about 2 hrs. use the recharger that plugs into the cig. lighter and tapem back on ...lol but id def go with the kc's i have 4 mounted on my rollbar..just 200,000 cp theyre great off road and in foggy weather or heavy rain or snow storms you cant beatem..
