98 front to lightning? how?

Post 98 front to lightning? how?

i just bought a lightning front bumper cover and 2 brackets. how do i put it on. is there anything else i need.
i had a 1998 f150. i have the 199 grille but i am not sure how to install the bumper.will the cover go on buy itself with the brackets or do i need something else for it?

if you have the 99 grill and the lighting bumper now you need a 99 bumper to but the lighting one on top of..

what exactly do i need. i tried it on my 1999 eddie bauer expedition and it wouldnt fit and i also tried it on my lariat supercrew and it wouldnt fit.they both have the tan piece on top of the bumper could this keep it from going on.
i dont want to buy the wrong thing.

You have to take off the top trim piece above the bumper core and also remove the lower air dam. The Lightning Bumper cover needs a support piece on each side that bolts to the top on the chrome bumper core and you will need the side support brackets. Installation is not to bad if you have all the parts.
You will need to take the grill assembly out and remove the bumper, disassemble the bumper and bolt the new parts on.

I really like my conversion on my 01 SCrew.

What was the cost? Since I have a 97, i will probably also need the grill...

I paid around $450.00 for all of the Ford parts to fit over my bumper. I did not need the chrome bumper or grill shell. I did price the honeycone grill out and it was around $250. I wound up ordering the Trenz upper and lower inserts for $270.
