So far I spent $450 for all the Ford front end parts including the lights and brackets. I ordered these over the Ford parts counter I also have a Trenz upper and lower billet grill inserts on order for about $275.00, hopefully they will be delivered today. Now all I need to do is get the cover painted.

Good Luck,
Tim

Tim, Ok I've got another question you said that you used your 2001 bumper, Did you have to fabricate it in any way or what, what I am getting at is that I am going to purchase all parts from the Ford Dealer in Murray, and I will have to have the grille shell and the Hard Bar(the bumper itself) which is YL3Z-17757-CCA BMPR-FRT 271.88$, and the Lightning shell(XL3Z-8200-AAC) GRILLE-RAD for 202.50 which comes colored matched so no repaint on that just swop the grille insert with a billet later on, so I need to know if your bumper worked if so I will just purchase one from a parts yard or get an aftermarket one? You will probably need a 99-01 bumper core.
You will need to remove the grill shell and them remove the bumper assembly from the truck. Take off the top valance and lower air dam from the bumper.
Next mount the two support pieces to the top of the bumper followed by putting the lower brackets that support the lights and the end pieces on the cover. Mount everything to the bumper core. Bolt assembly to the truck. (I know easier said then done.)

LoweredFord, you may need to find a 99-01 bumper and grill shell. The parts guys at Parker Ford used to know what they were doing. You might want to check with Key's in Murray for the other front end pieces instead of going with a new bumper core. The other idea is to call the guys at Wings West they are now producing a Lighting Bumper Cover clone that may fit directly on the 98 bumper. http://www.wingswest.com/index2.html I know that Godfathers here in Atlanta Area carries the product line.

4ord_man - you will need the brackets that I posted above to make everything work on the 99-01 bumper other wise it could get real messy.

Good Luck. Hopefully I will have my new Trenz biller grill and bumper cover on this week-end.

Tim

Tim, I went by the Keys Auto Salvage, I have done business with them before, they wanted to sell me a front bumper from a 99 + for over $400, Its almost cheaper, will it is cheaper just to buy it direct from Ford, I also, like you said have to get 99+ grille shell, I have got all the prices to update my truck to a 99+ Lightning in the front anyways, total bill will run me right at $883.17,thats including the parts youve listed plus some more like the lightning grille shell(color matched) no painting hehe, and the front bumper core, the rest you know what its is becuase you've got them to convert yours, the most expensive thing is the bumper and the grille shell but, the guys there at Parker Ford said its different then the regular one, so I will go with it so it will match up right.

Well I have my body shop where I get most of my work done checking the prices and if they really did give me body shop prices, never hurts to get it cheaper, if you can. When I decide to do this I will post pictures, if you don't mind post some of yours, I would really like to see your Truck.

I am going to do a step by step pictures album, because i've noticed alot of people want to know how to do this and if its possible, so this way everyone will know and not have to search for answers, well anyways I've got to go................... LoweredFord (Chris)

oh yeah let me know how the shell(S) go in, i've done mine on the stock but let me know if you have any trouble.

Man, I can not beleive the luck, every time I get ahead on bills and such and save a little for a mod I get pushed back, went to have a break job done, tried charging almost 200 for a front break job, didnt go over to well with me I needless to say got it cheaper then will the break job I had to break 3 of 4 center caps on my Neeper Neptunes, cost me 145 to next day them, now I have a Sub Woofer ripped at the seam, 220 to replace it.....................I just cant save the money for the lightning front end I was almost half way there............................argh!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
