Post New PIC's

What do you guys think? These are some pictures that I've taken with my new digital camera since I've installed the body lift and the rims and tires & nerf bars. Sorry the truck is dirty, it just finished raining.

Truckin4,
Now i know we've had our words but I trust thats behind us now. I HAD to tell you that the video was killer! Im gonna be looking into doin one myself as soon as I get home tonight. Your truck has came ALONG way and you've done a nice job on it. I didnt realize you had a system in it. Im in the process of doing something similar in my truck and I hope it turns out as good as yours did. Anyways, just wanted to pay a few compliments that were due.

Jason

Thanks guys, it's makes me feel good that others like my truck. DirtSlinger, after seeing all the stuff that you did to yours, I just had to beef mine up alitte too. By the way I love your truck. Truckin4, your truck is freaken huge and I LIKE it ......

I think I need to reduce the resolution of my images so that they will load faster. DirtSlinger, what resloution do you use. I would like to keep the same image quality but make the file size smaller. I know what you mean about camera crazy, I'm finding myself taking pictures of my shoes, pencils and just about anything I can find laying around the house.

By the way, my camera is the Kodak DC215 I got on sale for $299.99 at Staples.

I went to bootcamp and school in San Diego in 1990 through 1991, is all that stuff still there?

Nice looking truck. I must complement your color choice. Are you planning to bracket the nerf bars up closer to the body or leave them there for a good step? Did you have to mess with the manual 4x4 on the floor for the lift?

That's in the canyons of Black Mountain between Mira Mesa and Rancho Bernardo. I just recently got turned on to it...had no clue it existed! Its pretty big with lots of trails but,it IS very rocky and rough. Even driving through the main dirt roads is downright violent unless you are crawling. If ya want more info or to hook up and go play let me know!

Nitrox~
Im glad I inspired you It's (bigtrucks) addicting for sure so enjoy the ride.
How Ive been doing my images is I shoot them in 1280x960 and then reduce them to 800x600. It seems to retain the image quality of the high resolution and make it more manageable for postin'. My new toy is an Olympus 460-Zoom and I paid $399 for it. I did alot of research online and ended up with the Olympus. So far its been an awesome camera and im real happy with it.
As for the military...oh yea it's still here. San Diego has always been heavily military based and I doubt it will ever change.
Have fun with your *new* truck..Im sure you'll get lots of looks in it! If I can help ya let me know

Dirtslinger-
I didn't know there were places to off road. Me and my buddies have been at a loss since they put up boulders and trenches where we broke out the 4x4's. Do you know of any places up in north county? Do you have any from the side pictures, because within the next couple of years Im switching to another f-150 and wanted a size up a 7inch lift on a 2x4. Are the lift lips (or type of thing) the skirt that kind or are they just that hard plastic block thing?

Nitrox,

Like the truck! Especially like the nerf bars, since they appear to mount right to the frame and not the rocker panels... can you tell us some more about them? I'm looking for a set for my '00 and definitely want black, frame mounted.

Thanks!

ilmagill~

Thats the only spot i know of,really. I used to offroad at Brownsfield but they have built on the good spots so much that its practically all private property now.

You can find plenty of different pictures on my Zing page (link in the sig). The liftlips I have are flexible skirts. They cover alot more than the hard plastic covers Ive seen.
I'll include the sig again because Ive since added a movie-link. Leet me know what you think

JonC:

I purchased the nerf bars from a company in Florida, here's their url:
http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/SterlingEq/index.htm

The company will custom make the bars for you, or you can even tell them or send them the specific measurements to how you want them built and they will do it.

Nerf bars are frame mounted, they came with self tapping/threading bolts. I used the bolts, and had them welded.

For the steps I used two peices of non-skid that I had left over from my NAVY days. It's like the stuff you put on skate boards.

The price was cheaper than the local shops wanted for a set of westons, in my area. You can check the website above for current prices.

Hope this helps, if I need to provide more specific info, just let me know and I'll try ...
