Where Do I Buy 3M Window Tint???????????
Hey ya'll,
I am looking for a retailer that will sell me 5%(Limo) 3M Window Tint for my truck. I am not a professional, but good enough to apply tint to my vehicles without bubbles or lint or wrinkles, etc.....So please do not tell me to get a professional to install it. Also, in my state the legal limit is only 20%, which is not dark enough for my taste. I have spent the last three days reading and searching the web on Window Tint Products. I lost patience and gave up that search. CAN ANYONE HERE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN PURCHASE 5% 3M BRAND WINDOW TINT? (I am not interested in the other brands, but any feedback will be appreciated!)

Are you saying that none of the places here in town would even order it for you?
My tint guy used to use 3M on all my vehicles(7 so far). It discolored after 5 years, so I went back and found that he switched to another brand. I like this new brand a lot better because it "looks" darker than it really is. If you want to know the name, I'll try to find it.
This is the Expedition w/3M 20% tint:

Thanks for the info, nomo. By the way, NICE TRUCKS! Yes, I am interested in the new brand that you have switched to. Can you also tell me how long you have had it? I would expect all tint to fade or deteriate after a few years, but am surprised that your 3M tint only lasted 5yrs. And I didn't even think to ask the local people if they could order the 5% for me. Maybe I will call them and ask. Talk to ya later.

Thanks. I've been through a few vehicles lately, so I haven't had this a long time. But, my dad uses the same tint shop and he's had it a couple of years. So far, it still looks good. The 3M didn't really fade, but went from smoke to kind of a purple. Looked OK on my blue truck, but I was a little disappointed that it changed colors. Like you, I thought 3M was the best.
I can't find the papers to get the name of the tint, but you can call Justin at Jus-Tint-Etc in Broken Arrow and ask him what he uses. Whatever the name, I think it was the "Desert Series" that comes with UV blocker and a lifetime warranty.
If you call, tell him Neal Osburn- Blue '93 F150, Black '97 Expedition, Silver 2000 Monte Carlo (it was a "phase"), White 2000 F150 - sent you. We won't even go into my parents cars that he's done!
