Rear Wing (but not for flying!)
I want to install a rear wing onto the rear hatch of my Expy. I understand they help keep the read window clear. One brand I am looking at is MPC's rear wing for $89.00, available on www.overlander.com. They claim it requires no drilling and uses no adhesive tape.
Does anyone have this accessory installed? What is the best brand? Best price?
As always, thanx in advance for any help.

Ford might make one for the Expy because I know there is one for the Navagator. I know someone who has a Navagator with a rear wing and it looks like it came with it from the factory and it comes painted to match the exterior. But it was not cheap and they had to drill holes but it hasn't leaked. Hope this helps.

I ordered and installed the factory rear air deflector on my '98 EXPY. Dark smoke plexiglass. You must drill 4 13/32" holes in the upper part of the hatch lid and insert and install some nutserts. The kit came with decent instructions except for how much to tighten the nutserts. Has a template for positioning your center punch prior to drilling. 4 screw to mount the standoffs to the newly installed nutserts and 4 screws to mount the deflector to the standoffs. each part gasketed with a self adhesive foam gasket that should keep away any leaks.
I really like the looks and function on my Black expy. Don't know how good they's look on other colors....guess you could paint then to match the body color though.
good luck on your project

Ford Rules All & Dogsailer:
Many thanx for the great info. I'm not sure about drilling holes in my vehicle. dogsailer, any problem with leaks? It is good to know that Ford makes a nice part for this project.
I appreciate the help on this...

Haven't had the deflector on long enough for a rainstorm or even a good washing, but looking at the design, the mounting method and the gasket material and fit, don't expect there will be any problem and I Know it's a good solid mounting that won't fly off in a stiff breeze!
