Post Gear Shift ****?

Is it possible to remove the F-150 manual gear shift **** and replace it with an after-market type? Has anyone done it?

I don't know about replacing it, but the stock shifter just pulls off. I've done it by accident

I replaced mine with a white shifter **** from Hurst. I had to remove the brass insert and drill it to ~ 5/8 inch, add adhesive and tapped it on with a mallet. The shaft is splined. you may want to thread it. mine has been on for several months and its still tight.

I replaced mine with a nice chrome aftermarket **** from PepBoys. It wasn't going to fit and I was going to have to drill a hole or something to make it fit. However I got lazy and didn't want to think of how I was going to do it, so I just filled the inside of the **** with hot glue, from a glue gun and put it on. I just cleaned up the glue that poured out and man is that thing tight!

This question was already answered recently. A site search would have turned up this thread: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000208.html
