Question Ordering new truck, which mudflaps??????????

I need your advice. Ford dealer is telling me $66.00 for installed mudflaps/splash guards on my new F150 SC ORP SB. I want some but don't know what exactly I am buying from them. Does anyone know which these are and where I can see a picture of them. Last night at Advance auto parts I could buy the 4 mud flaps that say 4 x 4 on them for $22.00. Are the Ford ones the molded plastic?

Thanks,

Ford sells both the flat ones and the molded ones. The molded ones were $30 a pair when I bought them from the parts dept. at my local dealer and installed them myself. I recommend them highly, they work and look great! Double check with the dealer but I'm pretty sure under options you get the molded flaps.

I was only aware of the molded ones from Ford. If that is what they quoted you, then that is not a bad deal. Plus you have to take off the rear tires to get the last screw in right so it might be worth it to let them do it for that. I tried the flat ones on my 97 and they just did not look good. I don't have a good picture of them to share with you or i would.

If there are the molded splash guards, I would say go for it. I just bought mine for $75 (with tax) for the set (I hope to install them tomorrow. If that's for the flat splash guards, I would skip it. From what I've seen the molded oned look great!!

Pictures...and prices for both can be found here: http://www.thefordsource.com/store/t...ash_guards.htm

I ordered some molded ones from a co. in B.C.
Canada -- some of the most sourteous people I have ever dealt with -- I paid approx $50.00
for all four. I installed them (no tire removal) (I have a 99 F150 4x4 -- More clearance?) in approx 10min apiece-- easy just turn the front wheels as nesc. Here's the bad part -- I don,t have the exact name of the place with me now -- it's something like "truck apperance products" I found them by doing a search with "google" for "splash guards" or mud flaps. -- I love the way they look; you can have them painted but they just sort of blend in with the wheels -- IMHO-- Mark

I put the big flat ones with the Ford logo on my truck. I trimed about a inch off each side to make them fit better.I personally do not like the molded ones, but many people do.
If you like the molded ones $66.00 installed sounds like a good deal.

>>LT265 Wrangler RT/S tires.

Is this right? Shouldn't they be AT/S?
Is this the $300 upgrade? I sure hope not I understood it as being AT/S tires. Can some one help so I can change my order before it gets locked in if I need to?

You are correct, sorry about the typo. Wouldn't have listed the tires if they weren't the optional AT/S anyway. I'll edit the post if I can and change it.
