Jeff_Gallo,

There is a small gap between the floor and the console but it is not that noticable.

Jeff_Gallo: In addition to the post above, see my post (second to last, I believe) under the thread Expedition Console (the one with 60+ responses). If you have a '99 F150 like I do, be sure to ask LWM for a PRE-2000 model console! You will be much more pleased with the color match and the functionality.

The guys at LWM are a nice bunch and will help you. Good Luck.

Can someone please explain the fascination with the Expeditions console? I personally like the F150 console more. It looks to me like the major difference is the Exp. console extends forward to the dash and the F150 doesn't. Well me personally I like having the floor space between the console and the dash. It is very convenient for setting items there. That was one of my biggest grips about the Chevy's, their center console extends to the dash. Oh well, I guess to each his own.

Freezer,

I just like having more room for "stuff" within reach and not under a lid. The change tray on the Expy. console is not under the lid and I never used the floor space for anything. I have a SuperCab and the back seat area gives me plently of room for storage of big items there.

It is all personal preference but I think Ford should at least offer this as an option when you order the Captain's Chairs.

I'll completely agree with you that it is a personal preference. I will also agree that Ford should off it as an option if you get the captains chairs.

Ok J-C and everyone. Heres the deal on the F250 to Excursion center console. LWM has them. And I just picked one up for mine. In the Medium Grey. It does not go all the way up to the front like your Expedition ones but it does give you two cup holders in the back and two in the front as well. I think there is a power point and the hole for the radio controler that I will also have to think of a use for. $50 plus shipping. As soon as I get it I will start the conversion and post seperately on the Super Duty section as it goes with pictures. As the Excursion is relatively new I hope not to run into any color match problems but Darin describes it as the "lighter" grey (should be Medium Grey?)

I second J-C's request. Anyone know about an Excursion console that would fit these Super Duties with captains chairs?

Freezer: I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case, I like the look and feel of being in a ****pit environment. I've never liked the big open space in front of a seat in any car that is equipped with bucket seats or captain's chairs. That's why I'm also going to order and overhead console for my truck. I think that in the case of an F150 with captain's chairs, the console that extends to the edge of the dash really fills out and ties the interior together well. I agree with BlueFlareside that Ford should offer it as an option.

Now...what I'd REALLY love is if Ford offered the option for a center console AND mounted the gearshift in the console instead of on the steering column. THAT would be PERFECT!!!

Oh...gawd...I think c*ckpit is a dirty word! It edited me!! *LMAO*

Yes, hardly a scratch on it.

Well guess what? Took me 10 minutes to install! Bolt holes lined up exactly as the stock consle from the F250. 4 bolts out, 4 bolts in, easy as that. Still have to run the wire for the power point but this was the easiest install I have ever done. Pictures are in the camera and I will post them tommorrow.

Thanks BlueFlairside for all the help and the source.

Cool

No problem. You should really be thanking 97CustomXLT because he is the one who gave me the info.

Boy, I wish it would have been that easy in the F-150!! Post some pictures when you get a chance. I am sure everyone would like to see a before and after if you have them.

Glad it was so easy, though.

Yes sorry and thanks 97CustomXLT. I forgot you started this whole craze!

Here is the pictures of the thing installed.

This one shows the bolt pattern. It is exacly the same for both:

This one shows the back cup holders and power point.

This is one of the Excursion one in between the seats.

Here is a view of the two for comparison:

Looks good. Enjoy! Have you posted pics of it in the SuperDuty section yet? I am sure they would like to see it.
