Has anyone out there had a good experience with CARPARTS.COM? They claim to have MILLIONS of parts in stock, yada, yada, yada.

I ordered Smittybilt Textured Black Sure-Steps for my 2000 S/C 4x4 F150 on Feb 1. With a 33%-off coupon from Petersen's Off-Road mag, they were only about $150. On Feb 2, I get an email saying most items ship within 48 hours, I should get them really soon. On Feb 6, I get a message saying estimated ship date is Feb 22! On Feb 9, the bars arrived?!? And guess what? They are the wrong bars!!! They are for a 3-door (97/98)!!

Since CARPARTS.COM has no phone number, I emailed them (returns@carparts.com) explaining the problem. It has been eight (8) days and no response yet! Needless to say, they only have a few days before I take this up with VISA!

Oh yeah, and out of their MILLIONS of parts, they don't carry the Colgan Nose Bra or K&N filters for F150.

Done venting, thanks.

 

Fordlover - I ordered from them about the same time you did; I also used the 33% off coupon. I ordered the Husky Floor Liners and they arrived in exactly 7 days with no problems.

Let me know how it works out their return policy. I'd assume that you'll ship the steps back to them with no cost to you...

I finally found a phone number buried within the website. I called, waited on hold for 25 minutes, and finally got a human bean. He acted 'surprised' that nobody had responded to my email for over a week. I told my story and he told me to ship the bars back, then email him with the cost of shipping and he would reimburse me. Something tells me it may be months before getting reimbursed.

Also utilized their "online live parts help". It took FOREVER, the guy couldn't find what I wanted (Outland grill guard) even though there are photos on the Off-Road accessories page advertising it (click on the link and you get nowhere).

Oh well, this great thing we call Capitalism will eventually weed out these weak Net companies.

 

Everyone I ever returned something too gave me an RMA # and their account number to ship by. They would instruct me to call the shipping co. for a pick up and use their account number for the charges. Ussually a reputable carrier like UPS, Fedex, Airborne or such. I never had to pay up front. I am worried for you. Keep us up to date and if they rip you we will ream them a new one for you!

They don't have nearly as many parts as I thought they would. Especially since they advertise having millions in stock. I thought surely they would have all kinds of stuff for the #1 selling vehicle.

I checked out there webpage a while back, didn't see much for ou trucks. I get a lot of my stuff from Summitt, you can allways get a real person if you need one.They will even special order parts for you.
I Think Summitts prises a real good too.
