Looks great did you use the same reflectors that Capt used or some thing different. I am thinking of doing the same on my truck, hope it will meet requirement for rear reflectors when I put the clear tails on.

Cool

Jim: Yes, I used the same thing Captain used...Blazer brand reflectors, 1" x 12" in a 4-pack. Got mine at Autozone. I've checked other parts stores but Autozone is only place that had them. Easy installatio too...just take off the tailgate, clean flat surface and stick on. So simple, even I could do it.

Cool

This MOD is AWESOME! THANKS again CAPT. I installed mine last Thursday evening. Just like Marv1 said, remove the tail gate, and clean the area with soap & water, windex, or whatever so the surface is dry and clean). Installation is *really easy* just peel and stick on. Mine are butted end to end. A 3.5" piece had to be cut to complete the job. I just scored the reflector all the way around (2 or 3 times) w/ a SHARP knife and snapped it off. I went one extra step further to seal the bottom of the reflectors from holding water or mud, The bottom of the sheet metal is bent out 90 degrees and the reflecter doesn't sit tight against it so the gap has the potential of holding water and rusting. I filled in the gap with clear silicone between the bottom of the reflector and the sheet metal. I also noticed when the reflectors are in place, there are small gaps on top, where the sheet metal is over lapped and spot welded. I shot a small bead of silicone to cover this gap. I am a real detail fanatic when it comes to my truck, Some folks could care less about the "gaps" . I hope I'm not the only
crazed truck nut out there. :-)

I stood back about 100 feet from the truck and shined my flashlight on the tail gate, the reflectors are actually "brighter" than the tail lenses (lights were off). The reflectors are very noticable from ALL angles behind the truck. This is the first thing people driving behind you will see, because the reflectors are very eye catching, and you wouldn't expect to see reflectors in that area.

I posted this info already but here it is again;
