After 2 days numerous comments on reflector install! Everyone really likes the look.. So let me explain just where they go... If you stand facing the rear tail gate look above the bumper and below the gate. There is a gap and you can see all the way to the back of the bed.The back of the bed has a small lip on it.The reflectors fit flush on the back of the bed with the bottom of each one resting on the lip. They cover the entire distance across the back..You can't see them when walking around the truck, yet when someone is behind you, they look like a set of custom break lights!! The refectors are 1 inch wide a 12 inch long come in a four pack. Cost 4.99... The tail gate is still ****ional and it really an easy install.. pull covering off 3m type tape using lip as a guide lay bottom reflector on lip press firmly... Reflectors are of good quality and look like they came from the factory!! CAPT. wouldn't lie to YA! Super Look and cheap.Ford truckin forever!

-- JIMB-- It's not tape. They are regular highly reflective hard plastic. Just like on a bike. They look much better than any tape would.. look at update on saftey mod post to be sure to get the right one's',....but it's your truck and if you like tape better than have at it...All ford truck's look great.. Making them our own one of a kind is what it's all about. Enjoy!!....Capt.

Cool

Wow! I thought about doing something similar! I was just waiting for the weather to warm up to get the tailgate off and clean the area before I apply red reflector tape.

I did add some white reflector tape in the front between the headlights and bumper. There's a peice of black trim that I removed and cleaned before applying the 1" wide tape. It is inconspicuously conspicuous.(?)

BTW, I found a great source for reflector tape. The place is called Earl Mich. They have about 10 colors and many, many types of vinyl supplies. They can also custom cut just about any width.

Capt. A,

By any chance, did you save the packaging for your reflectors? If not, perhaps there is a parts # somewhere on the reflector? I checked our local auto supply places today (Trak Auto, Pep Boys) and while they had Blazer reflectors, only a few styles and none like your'n. Maybe Blazer has a website...

Cool

Thanks to all the posts I found the proper reflectors (#V 280 R) at Auto Zone. So I had to get registered to pass on the news. They look great on the all white rear of the my truck.

Question

CAPT. AMERICA / J-C / Anyone!

Where can I see some PICs of this MOD. I see where J-C said he took a look at your PICs, but I do not see where he went to see them.

I think I would like to do this to the rear of my 97' White over Tan Lariat.

Would you go with all white or all red reflectors on the rear of a white truck?

Thanks everyone,
Topher

Marv1,

Thanks for the Picture.

WOW that looks great!!!!

I my truck is all white in the back like yours so I am going to go with the all red also.

That has got to help with visibility!

Maybe it will become an F-150 standard feature in the future and CAPT. America can pick-up some royalty $$ ;-) ..............

Thanks,
Topher
